On August 26, 2006, my guy suggested we go to Dallas (two hours northeast of our hometown) to shop. We arrived and go straight to his sister's home and shortly after arriving he takes our suitcases out of the car and I assumed we were preparing to spend the night. Well, he pulls from the suitcase a black evening dress (and shoes) he had bought me three months prior. I didn't know he had these things with him. He asked me to get changed for a night out on the town. He also changed into a really nice black suit (he looked smashing in it). He didn't tell me where we were going and I'm pretty excited at this point so wherever we ended up was of no consequence to me because it seemed like he had put some thought into this already. We get dressed, leave his sister's place, and arrived at a restaurant (one that I had mentioned months before that I'd like try the food). Ya'll, it's the neatest place. It spins very slowly while you're dining. As the night fell, I thought the Dallas skyline were the most romantic lights in Texas. And by the way, the table was already set with wine and roses, so he had made these arrangements well ahead of our getting there. We ate dinner, reminisced over our last six years of dating, and gazed out into the lights. And now the proposal - We leave the restaurant, walked through the lobby to the Hyatt Regency hotel, go up the escalators and there on the second level very much to my surprise and amazement are my some of family, his family, and our friends waiting on us to arrive. Of course, I am in SHOCK! It's not by birthday so what's happening?? They drove the two hours to be here. Everyone presented me with hugs and a single yellow rose. He had told them it was my birthday. This was August and my birthday is in October. He wanted them to be surprised too!! By this time, people in the hotel restaurant and bar are staring at us trying to figure out what's going on. This goes on for a while and then I look around and he's coming up that same escalator but this time in a WHITE TUXEDO and was carrying the most vivid red roses you've ever seen. He stepped in front of me, called everyone to our side, got down on one knee and proposed in front of everybody. When he opened the black ring box, I almost fainted. It held the most beautiful ring I've ever seen in my life. (I'm still getting compliments on it). And that's not all - he had even rented a suite at the hotel. It was stocked with food, wine, pics of the two of us (enlarged) and, yes, more roses. Everyone was invited back to the suite where we danced, laughed and talked until late into the night. It was fabulous!!! I knew I was loved him but at that point I fell in love all over again. I could go on (because there's more) but, needless to say, it was a proposal that left a memory II'll cherish for the rest of my life!! We made plans to marry in May of 2008. Thanks for letting me share with you how wonderful my guy has been to me.

The week before he proposed he kept asking me what we were doing that weekend which was a little funny.
On Saturday June 9, he took me to Buca Di Beppo and he was shaking the whole way there and mumbling a lot. I really don't remember what he said up until he asked me to be his wife. Of course I said yes and we both cried. The waiter announced it to the entire room that we were in. It was great. We are so happy. Our wedding is 10/3/08

My husband reserved a table for us at CInderella's castle in Walt Disney World. We got a table right by the window and the servers call you "My lady" and "My lord" all night. The food and service were impeccable. At 9:00, the fireworks started and we had a crystal clear view of them right out the window. As we were leaving, we were the last two people in the park besides the cast members and we saw that the castle was changing colors. He looked at me and said he would never be able to top the night we had just had and he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. That was four years ago and we are still going strong. :)

i was taking a nap on the couch after being at work. he came home, sat down on the couch, and woke me up. we were having small talk about our day and then he told me to close my eyes and hold out my hand.

this was not an unusual request, as he often surprises me with little things such as ice cream or some sort of trinket. while my eyes were closed he placed the box in my hand and then opened it. it made that familiar jewelry box sound when it did. i opened my eyes and in the box was the ring. he asked and i of course said yes!!

the wedding is july 5, 2008.

My fiance says take her to a strip club and propose to her in front of all those women...that nothing will tell her you love her more than that, however, what he did was really sweet in itself. I was having a bad day and really grumpy so instead of going out we went back to his place and watched tv he rubbed my head and then said he had to go get something. He went and got the ring, came back sat down on the floor and kept being sweet then he told me he loved me and didn't want to live his life without me, would I be his wife? I know it wasn't out there and crazy but it was special and really worked for us.

She proposed to me... We had dated only 5 weeks, but "just knew" we were meant for each other. I picked her up after work at midnight. She was a nurse and had a very bad day. Lost several patients. She didn't even want to go out, just wanted me to take her home. I talked her into getting takeout and going back to my place. She spilled an entire plate of Italian food on her blouse and skirt. Went into bathroom to rinse it out and left it in bathtub to soak and put on one of my shirts. I was still wiping up marinara sauce off the couch and carpet when she came out. She started crying, I told her we would just share my plate. She said something about me being soooo sweet to her then said, "I'm ready to get married, how about you?" I said, "Yeah, I guess so." She said, "Is that all you have to say about it?" I replayed the scene in my mind and asked, "Was that a proposal?" "Yeah, I guess it was." "Well why didn't you say so?" She said, "Will you marry me?" I got up and kissed her and said "Yes." We got married 2 days later, on the beach, at sunrise, with our friends, flowers, and a gallon of Ripple wine. That was 41 wonderful (mostly) yrs ago.

It was last Valentines day and I wanted to suprise him. So, I made him dinner (his favorites) and set a candle lit table decorated with hearts and candles and pictures of us. I told him to dress up because I was going to supirse him. He thought we were going out. He was shocked when he saw it. I made a CD of all of our songs and played it though dinner. After we ate, we were dancing and all of the sudden he stopped and dropped to his knees. (I'll never forget that his knees popped on the way down...lol) and he asked. I cried and got mascara all over his white dress shirt. And we were engaged. We're still very happy and looking forward to our life together.

We were making out and I paused to whisper "I want to be your wife." He took my hand and looked at me seriously ( a rare thing) and told me he didn't have a ring yet, but asked me anyway. :)
It was spontaneous, so romantic. But I am sure he will surprise me with a ring and do it again with the whole knee thing :P
