so long that it had the opposite effect
I mean lets take a person who was already a very good person with a genuine and pure heart

now, they go through a great suffering, are DEEPLY humbled and even more compassionate than they ALREADY were to begin with..ok..so,i guess thats good
but what about, this now they have learned much and sufferd much and theres just no end to their sufering
none of which is self inflicted

my question is when does it get to the point
that you can only be so humbled, and so much of a better person...until you just snap and become quite the opposite

so instead of becoming better, youve taken an already better person and just destroyed them

WE ARE NOT ANGELS or prophets WE ARE HUMANS
WERE NOT HERCULES!!
please dont say God doesnt give more than we can bear bla bla
if that were true there wouldnt be so many suicides!!

all i really want to know is if anyone agrees that NO sometimes suferring is unneccesary and can destroy a person whose already

ok,take parents as a perfect example
they may punish their child for doing something wrong to try and teach the child and hopefully the child learns from this

but wouldnt it be quite unfair if the parent punished their child throughout the duration of their whole life?
isnt that just ENOUGH IS ENOUGH already, your not suppose to overdo it!

I think some people have been trained to "grin and bear it" no matter what the situation, and they are forced to pretend they are not human and that it's "god's plan" for man/mankind to suffer. Yes, it's true that things will happen in our life, but it's not wise to pretend we are not affected by them.

True, sometimes the hardest situations can bring out the best in us, but then again, it may be easier to "grin and bear it" when in a bad situation, and the real test is to be good when people have good circumstances.

Personally, I don't approve of raising children in an environment full of suffering, sure they will eventually need to face it but that is not what I'd choose for them.

Edit:
Reference to raising children is referring to God being a loving parent. I just can not swallow this concept given the extreme suffering of some and not of others -- with no concern of being righteous or not.

I starred your question because I am sure many have wondered about this.
I am a Christian who has no answer for this.
But I have felt as if I could not endure any more without being made much worse, due to the suffering.
Looking back, I think part of my problem was I didn't let God help me when I should have.
Very good question.

I agree with you whole heartily. I often think about the suffering children in world. They have lived and died all the while suffering. Some having never smiled. Suffering is the result of inhumane humanity.
Peace to you.

If you have a Bible, open it around the middle
and look for the book of Job, (pronounced jobe).
Read about his sufferings as a righteous upright man.
Then read the questioning he did to God, just as you are
doing here.
There IS a reason for suffering, and it's not that God
doesn't love us or is not fair.

No one should suffer and yes, it could destroy anyone, resulting in suicides in some. There is only so much some can bear.

It is that suffering you speak of that is what we are meant to escape. Suffering is inevitable with life so the escape is death. There is no God so you should meditate. Looking within is the only way you can find the answers you are looking for.

It has been shown that prolonged suffering usually messes up a person and fills them with hate for others.

I do agree with you. If all suffering made people stronger then we would have no mental illness, homeless people and suicide.

Yes, suffering is unneccesary and can be cruel and hurt people.
