"...............broad and spacious is the road leading to destruction and many are the ones finding it."
Matthew 7 v 13
Christian view yes of course, Gods laws do not change with time. Only men's perception of it.

You are mixing some scriptures together that are contextually speaking of different things. All born again Christians are on the straight way to Heaven, but many do not enter into the "rest" that God prepared for them which s spoken about in Hebrews. Matthew is the gospel of the Kingdom and is a little different from the New Covenant. Good study though, keep on with it, just get the right scriptures together with the right doctrine. Most doctrnal mistakes come when you don't separate God's plan for Israel from God's plan for the church.

Are you sure you are quoting the correct verse?
Anyways, the true meaning is that verse is that there are many on the wide road which leads to death, but narrow it the gate or way, but few find it. The narrow gate speaks to us about the way into Heaven, and the wide road speaks to us of the way to Hell.
Have you been accounted in the few that find it? Let me say that Jesus and His disciples told us many times that we need to come through the gospel of the water and the Spirit (John 3:5), but many just ignore them and come another way making Him a liar. You just have to look at any Churches fundamental Statement of Faith. They all only believe in the Cross and leave out the water of His baptism. They are all His enemies and are by doing this blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.
This is the correct true Christian view.

Jesus was referring to the religious corruption of his day, but this also has a universal application. However, it is rather a stretch to use this text to claim "You have to be a 'Christian,' otherwise burn in the flames of Hell for all Eternity."
The point Jesus the Christ was making, was that the spiritual life is a battle, and requires dedication and commitment. Few will persevere to reach a high state of spiritual progress. However, many more will yet keep the Faith, and will receive their reward. Also, as for those who go to Hell, I would say that the Bible nowhere clearly and unambiguously states that Hell is eternal for all who go there. Indeed the Eastern Orthodox Church has always said that people are in Hell, only as long as they need to be.
Note also that the passage "No man comes unto the Father but by me," clearly refers to Jesus' role as Messiah and Example of a life Perfectly Obedient to God. Thus all those who lead a life of obedience are coming to the Father; by the same God-given Righteousness that Jesus embodied.
Peace and Blessings

Jesus IS the current view....and the past view....and the future view.
" I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me". -- Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6)
" Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12)

This is a very current view for me. Personally, I think Jesus was trying to let people know that it's gonna take more than religion and ritual to find "the way". I think He meant that it's going to take a very honest heart and complete trust in a Higher Power.
Joining a religion or church and following their rules is easy. A clean, honest heart and complete trust...that's a bit harder...Blessings!

This is simply a metaphor referring to the fact that the world is full of distraction and it is is hard to keep to the right path contanctly and there will be itmes when you veer off it by not behaivng as you should or not having faith in that route. I think most religions could use this phrase and it could even be used in a secular sense to anything where firm commitment and lots of hard work id concerned like a athlete woul needs to commit everthing to training but will tempted to stop when the going gets tough or others encourage them to eat or drink the worng things!

I think that this is definitely still present in the Christian mind today.
I also think that this is why we find churches full of "believers" and those who seek redemption.People are so aware of the small chance of "being saved", or at least cling to this idea, and do everything they possibly can to make their chance greater.
This is what i have observed in my personal religious experience, and that of those around me.
It is not necessarily a reflection of my own beliefs.
hope this helped.

well,........603550 male Israelites above the age of twenty came out of egypt, but only two in that generation made it to the Promised Land.
John 6, again shewed the difficulty to enter.
Most professing christians in the Laodicean epoch are not soundly converted, and hence they are naked before God and in need of the white raiment of the righteousness of Christ (Rev 3:17-19)
Most of Christendom today have departed to preach the Broadway gospels......................
if you are serious, interested, read..... the " Puritan's " Gospel
1) John Bunyan - The Strait Gate
2) Thomas Shepard - The Sincere Convert and the Sound Believer

and email me after. Christianity has to be experimental, and one need to TASTE EXPERIMENTALLY the forgiveness of sins. One may have true experience (eg king Saul, Judas Iscariot) yet never had their sins forgiven!
Roman Catholics are gone, all those who propagates priestly garbage Anglican, Orthodox, Marthomas....etc are gone. Charismatic is demonic. Arminians subtly denies the Sovereignty of God.....all gone...so too the cults, like SDA, Mormons, Jws, Scientology........
MOST OF US, THOUGH PROFESSING TO BE CHRISTIANS WILL PERISH AS MATT 7:21-23.
May God have mercy on us
