i have an ithica NY model 37, it still shoots fine and works efficiently, the only problem is, its a bit difficult to pump because the metal rod that moves the pump up and down is to close to the barrel and it scratches it making it hard to pump, what do i do to fi this, new gun isnt an option,

It probably got dropped and the slide bar got bent in toward the barrel. I think you could pry/bend that slide bar away from the barrel so it doesn't bind.
I have a Ithaca Mod. 37 Featherweight that I have used for years.

If the action rod is bent, you're putting additional stress on it every time you pump. You could try to bend it back yourself, but it would be a better idea to have a gunsmith do it. Another option would be to try to find a replacement rod.

The action bar is bent. You can attempt to rebend it back, or you can have a gunsmith do it for you.

yeah there is somthing wrong with it cuz i have an old one, 20 gauge feather weight pump and it pumps perfectly.
