is it yellow gold? I had a yellow gold promise ring back a billion years ago and it did that. It was real, but my finger kept turning black underneath. I took it to the jewelry store and they asked if I drank lots of cokes and stuff which I did and they said its common for people who drink lots of soda to have reactions like that. I cut back on them and it got lots better. something about the acidity that gets into your skin or something reacting with the gold, I'm not sure but maybe thats your problem. hope it helps!

i'm taking my ring lower back to the shop that it replaced into bought from. on the tag from JC Penney s it says 2 tone 14kt and we paid lots for it yet when I positioned on it, it leaves a grey to black arrogant mark between my middle and pinky finger. i believe like the only way that's going to look advantageous devoid of looking uninteresting is cleansing it continuously which I shouldn't could desire to do. My different ring doesn t try this and its white gold. I m hoping that they did no longer sell me a defective ring. I certainly have quite some gold yet this ring seems to be the only one that provides me issues. :(

I noticed many people mentioning that it means your ring is cheap but this may not ring true at all, you have a couple of things that could be going on A. your ring could be tarnished, doesnt mean its cheap just means it needs cleaned B. this is sometimes a sign of anemia.. have your ring cleaned and if it continues to happen look up the signs and symptoms of anemia and if any of them match any issues your having contact your dr!

It is plated metal it is not real this happens if the metal say it is suppose to be a gold ring if it is not stamped it ain't real
the metal is probably like nickel or a blend of metals with a fine coating of gold last about 2-3 weeks then starts to rub off
then you get the black finger.

Because your skin and the metal are forming a chemical reaction and the black is the product. You may be allergic to one of the metals in the ring.

Cheap gold or perhaps not even gold, but gold plated? That plus a very high acid content in the oils of your skin.

It is a cheap metal. You can get it coated so that it doesn't tarnish anymore.
