I heard this sentence on a European TV show....unfortunately, I do not speak Italian very well. I am curious to know what this sentence means because the woman was surprised to hear it.

It's Italian but rather mispelled. The correct sentence should be "Si vuole comparare con me ?" or "Vuole compararsi con me ?" and it means "Do you want compare to me ?".
However in current Italian we rather say "Si vuole paragonare a me ?" or "Vuole paragonarsi con me ?", with exactly the same meaning.
