I love my WASR10, I got a buddy who has an Egyptian Maadi, and it seems to be a pretty nice rifle too. I also own a Yugo SKS 59/66 which is an excellent eastern block rifle too, but my AK is still my Favorite. It's my Baby. Anybody else feel the same?

I have two. A Romanian AIM-47 and the Polish WZ-88 Tantal(AK-74 variant). I like them both, but love the Tantal more.
The Romy is not that much heavier, but when you put a fully loaded mag or a drum in it, it turns into a beast.
The Tantal on the other hand, since it uses a smaller cartridge(5.45x39) and bakelite mags, it's SOOOO much lighter. Comparable to the AR in weight. Along with similar recoil and muzzle climb. Probably less than the AR.

I saw some really nice ones at the last gun show reworked with lots of loving care. Clean stained and finished wood and a slick black gun kote finish on the metal. Not your ordinary AK. Lancaster Consulting was one company and Arizona Response Systems was the other check it out.

In a SHTF situation I want a COM BLOCK weapon Ak 47, Sks, Mosin Nagant . I have a Yogo ak-47 and I would bet my life on it. 6,000 rounds of all types of ammo an NEVER a ftf or miss fire. Can you say that about your M-16 or AR-15?

i'm not a gun nut but to answer your question i've used east german ak's, bulgarian, russian, romanian, and chech ak's, and the chinese type 56, which is their version of the ak47. the best one out of the bunch is the bulgarian one. it had no rattles, everything fit nicely, and could actually hit the target i was shooting at. the rest were okay but i would prefer the bulgarian one over the rest.

yah i love mine, i was going to get a wasr10 but i have been saving for a new AR15, so you have not had any problems with it, i have read that they have some trigger slap? oh and i am no nut juts a gun lover.

If I had to pick between an M-16, an M-4, or an AK-47 for carrying into a firefight, I'd take the AK-47 every time.
