Its a part of Vanuatu, they are a Kastom tribe, that rejected the life presented by missionaries.
It is in the pacific, my uncle was killed there a few years back, but overall, the islanders are wonderful people.
There are a couple of books you should check out if you are enjoying the show.
Both are by J. Maarten Troost, The sex lives of Cannibals and Getting Stoned with Savages.
The second is about Vanuatu, both are great reading, and address the realities of living in the pacific, that most of us don't know about.
