I have extreme pain if I bend over, sit too long and when I wake up in the morning. I am able to carry 33 lbs, but in tears. However I found that if I don't have to carry it and just lift, I am able to lift more than I can carry. Why is that?

Huh? Not sure what you mean, I had back surgery and the doc strictly banned me from lifting anything for a long while, then It could be no more that a gallon of milk for a year.

You may be able to lift more than necessary, but is it the safe thing to do? You may find yourself back in the hospital soon my friend.

When you walk with a load it is shifting slightly with each step and the muscles on each side of your back are alternately making adjustments.
