Well, to start with, you will need a 97 Mustang GT, then you need a 302. Then you need to have the know-how, and a whole bunch of tools. Oh yeah, I forgot the most important thing, several cases of beer so you can sit around and DRINK about it.

If you are dead set on this engine swap why bother with a 302? Better to go with a 351W Saleen installed these engines in their Mustangs so parts from them and a new engine from Ford would be the way to go.The 351W has support in that body style because of Saleen.It's about the same size as a 302 but with more power available.But if it
was me I would sell the car and look for a nice used
Mustang in the new body style.

Make Sure Theres Enough Room And Just Get New Engine Mounts And Make Sure You Have A Good Transmission So That You Can Swap It Out With The Stock One So That The Gears Work With The 302 Or Just Buy Gears For It And Do It The Harder Way But Saving Your Money

use the motor mounts from a 94 and the bell housing and tranny and driveline. too...if you want to smog it use the computer and sensors from a 2000 Explorer...
