You have to refocuse your thoughts. First. Do what you can to resolve the issue. When you have done all you can. Then stand on the faith that you have done your part. Remind yourself that all things will eventualy come to their end. Say this to yourself as often as needed...."This too Shall Pass" I find it helpful to find something else to think about every time my mind wanders to that subject. For example, finances. When i start to worry about money i remind myself that i have a job and i work as much as pratical. I pay the bills i can, and send partial payments to the ones i cant pay in full. I remind myself i am doing all i can. i made a budget and i follow it. I know that worrying wont fix the problem so i take comfort in what i have already done and am doing. When The thoughts pleague me i choose to stop and take account of all I do have and have accomplished. I remind myself of the successes i have already acheived. I tell myself, hang in there some day soon you will be on top.

I suppose to some degree it depends on what the worry is. I have had images that I can't let go of in the past and I have prayed about it and that's worked for me. I have asked God to remove any visual and emotional memories and help me to let go.
Another method is to find a distraction. Sort of like re-training the brain. Each time you think of the worry - force yourself to think of something else. IE Do not entertain the thoughts. Easier said than done though!

Can you do anything about it. if Yes then do it! Change the ACTION or change the ATTITUDE. easier said than done, yes, but possible. Aslo every time your mind goes there - and it will- stop the thought in its tracks with a gentle but stern No( like training a puppy not to poop on the carpet, gentle interupt and place it where you want it to be) put your thoughts somewhere else - here and now is good, be in the NOW. Good luck

stress can take alot out of you and your life. You can't just stop stressing and you just can't forget what it is that is causing all the stress you need to deal with it. As soon as you deal with the issue you will feel calmer and less stressed out.

You can't. Try to accept it for what it is and incorporate it into who you are. You won't be able to forget about it. But you can move on.

depends on what it is... sometimes you just have to get over, and sometimes there are things that no matter how long you worrying and stressing over won't go away.
