There are usually 2 adjustments on your scope one on top and one on the side. the one on the side adjusts up and down look at the adjustment and it will have an arrow that points up, so you know which direction to turn it to either raise or lower your shot. The top adjustment is the same for the left and right. Most scopes have a 1/4 in moa adjustment. This means that if your bullet is 1 inch off center at 100 yards you will need to move the adjustment 4 clicks to bring it on target. These moa adjustments are all set at 100 yards. So I find it bets to zero my rifle at 100 yards. If you want it to be zeroed at 200 yards then get your bullet to shoot apx 1 inch above center at 100 yards and it should be set dead on at 200 yards. If your scope is 1/8 moa adjustments it takes 8 clicks to move 1 inch at 100 yards. Good luck . This takes lots of rounds and a couple of hours to do right. A gun vise on a stable table is best used but I am always too cheap to buy one so it takes me a little while longer to sight mine in.

I have found a new scope I want that takes all the fun out of it and I will have one soon. Look at www.shepherdscopes.com. They make a scope that makes shooting fun without all the mathmatics involved in long range shots.

There will be 2 caps on your scope. They cover dials which you use to make adjustments. The dial on top is for up and down and the one on the right side of the scope is for right and left adjustments. They will have an arrow showing the direction of the bullets movement. Up will make the bullet hit higher, right will move the bullet to the right, etc. One thing you need to know is what the clicks value is. Most scopes are 1/4" or 1/4moa (minute of angle, which is just slightly bigger than an inch at 100 yards) per click. At 100 yards you'd need to go 4 clicks per inch. If you are sighting in at 50 yards you'll need to go 8 clicks to move an inch. 16 clicks would move the bullet impact 1 inch at 25 yards. Take 2 or 3 shots before you adjust anything to make sure you didn't pull the shot. If the group is tight, make your move from the center of the group. You'll need to shoot off sand bags or use some sort of vice or stand to shoot from to insure the gun isn't moving. After you make a move, shoot another 3 shot group and make sure it moved the direction and amount you needed. Continue until you have the gun shooting where you need it. Make sure you wear ear and eye protection while shooting and have a safe and fun time.

Provivded it's been installed properly, it's easy.
You set the scope to it's center, (just as it comes
out of the box).
Then 'bore-sight` it:
Clamp the rifle to a bench with the bolt removed.
Sight through the bore, and CAREFULLY center a target
about 25 Yd.s out in the bore.
Adjust the scope so the cross-hairs center on the target.
The rifle WILL move. Two or three trys here.

Final Zero:
Then take the rifle out to the range.
You should be 'on the paper at 100Yd.s.
Final zero your scope at the selected range and you're done.

If you take your rifle to where you purchased the scope they will mount and bore sight it for you.

I bore sight the old fashion way looking threw the bore then the scope and make adjustments. Many times I have had my rifle bore sighted before the other guys have there fancy bore sighters out of the package. I also do all my bore sighting at 100 yards. It takes me about 10 minutes to get the whole thing done and sighted in.

It's actually genuinely easy. There's 2 knobs on the scope, one for elevation, one for direction.

It's recommended you do adjustments while prone, as your accuracy is best.

The best way to learn to adjust your scope, is to read & follow the instructions that came with your scope.

if you don't have the instruction sheet, contact the scope manufacture & request an instruction sheet.

untill then, the scope, has 2 self explanitory adjustments on it
