i was given a webcam but dont have software for it. is there a software that works with all webcams? if so what is it called? and if not whats a good webcam to get?

if you know the company of the webcam, find it on google. search for software there

if u have windows vista... no need to worry. because it actually searches for a compatible software for u when u plug in a device without installing it software from a cd. i dont knw abt Xp never had that experieence.
Else u cld look up the name brand of the webcam and call them or look up downloads for the software.. i use to have a logitech webcam and u can always access softwares on line.
as for a good webcam... i really cant tell... i guess the more u spend the more quality imaging u get... ranging from $25- $125... or more even..

go to the camera manufacturers web site and download the driver for your model and install it and it will work fine
