My nose has been stuffy for days, & I'm so stuffy that it feels like mucus is backed up WAY in my stomach (even though that may not be the case), which is making me feel nauseated & have little to no appetite for the past few days. I've tried Mucinex many times, & it's supposed to be one of the most effective mucus eliminator, but it doesn't work on me for some reason. What other brands of congestion medicine are good?

The Mucinex may not work if you just use it alone. It is supposed to thin out the mucus so that you can cough it up or blow your nose easier. You may need something to dry yourself up too. Try using one of the cold preparations such as DayQuil or something like that. Benadryl works for me.

Sorry you are sick.

yeah like you can feel the mucus going down into your stomach.

well i swear by Zicam, the cherry flavored melt in your mouth tablets. you can't eat or drink anything after for 15 minutes, and I'm telling you the taste is bad, but nothing you can't handle i promise! (it does say on the box to take before the cold gets bad, but it really doesn't matter, it will help you.) take one every four hours as needed.

how you feel better soon!

Hi,l am feeling the same way at the moment, yes, you could have mucus dropping into your stomach. Try getting a bowl of near boiling water (Watch you don't scald your skin) and put your face under a towel, so you are breathing in The Steam, do it for 30 mins, a few Min's at a time-so it does not Overpower you, this will loosen any mucus in your tubes and help you breath more easy, do this 3-4 times a day. Also, slice some lemons, boil till soft, mash so the flesh drops off, take out the pips and skins, add a small can of lemonade (Sprite) and tip into a jug with a large spoonful of honey, drink as hot as poss all day. You can reheat it,a cupfull at a time,4 lemons to a pint of water-plus the can.. You can also add a Beechams powder or simular to the cup. If you like Onions ?, boil a chopped up onion till soft, add gravy mix, and eat -tasty,and really good for a cold. Hope this helps. Love Jo xx
P/s These will Loosen the mucus Not dry it up... it needs to Come Away, to clear your tubes.
