Allah means 'God' in Arab, and its preferrably used to refer to the god of Islam in Malaysia. And here, we are taught Jesus is Nabi Isa ( a prophet *in malaysian language* ) and Jesus is the Christian god.
In malaysia we are so used to calling muslim god, Allah and christian god, God or Tuhan ( malaysian lang.) Dont ask me why, probably easier to distinguish both believers.
You say Christians here insist that Allah is different from God.
But here me, Muslims here insist that God is different from Allah.
Still, we get along just fine. : )

Are you really so unseeing? Or are you just being dishonest? The article you referred us to does not say any such thing.

The Christian newspaper wants to use the word "Allah" for God as a way to convert Muslims to Christianity - by using Muslims' own name for God.

The government knew this, and that is why they originally banned the Christian paper from using "Allah" for "God."

Look to Malaysia to see lots of Muslims converting to Christianity soon.

"Allah" is just the Arabic word for "God". Arabic Christians refer to God as Allah as well. The Persian/Farsi word for God is Khoda, in Spanish it's Dios, in French it's Deux. Not everyone speaks English, you know.

I didn't read the news link you gave, but I can tell you that Islam is the national religion of Malaysia, and in order to be a Malaysian citizen and enjoy the benefits of citizenship you must pledge allegiance to Islam and never renounce it. Therein lies the issue these people are facing.

I am Christian. I firmly believe there is only one God. You may call God by the name of Allah if you prefer.
