Hi, I am a 16 year old girl, 5'3, and 173 pounds. I really need to lose some weight. Im not about to ask for a miracle, i know it will take a lot of effort to lose weight. But now, I have finally found the motivation and drive for me to actually do it this time. So, my plan is to start eating healthy, eating little about five times a day, adding up to only 1000 calories. Then, i plan to workout about 2 hours every day, and about 4 hours on the weekends. When i workout, i am going to go on the tredmill or the eliptical, or both, notthing else. How long will it actually take for me to lose about 50 pounds if i stick with this diet and workout plan?

In order to loss weight, you will need to find the root cause on your weight gain. Once you find out the root cause, you will be able to come out a weight loss plan that able to help to reduce your weight.

Only with a realistic weight loss plan, you will be able to achieve it easily.

In order to have ideal weight. few things to take note.

Diet

- Try to have plenty of starchy foods such as rice, bread, pasta, potatoes,
- Aim to have five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables daily
- Use a moderate amount of dairy prod

Physical Activity

Getting active is one of the best ways to lose weight and keep fit. There are all sorts of activities and
sports that can get you moving and aid weight loss.

Calories and Weight

A pound of fat equals 3500 calories. To lose 1 pound a week you will need to expend 3500 more calories than you eat that week, whether through increased activity or
decreased eating or both. Losing 1-2 pounds of fat a week is a sensible goal

First off, good for you.

A realistic goal is 2 pounds a week. By losing a little a week, it will take you longer to lose it but you will have a better chance of keeping the weight off.
So, thats about 25 weeks or 6 months.

One more thing, you do not need to work out 2 hours everyday, instead aim for 40 min to an hour. Also dont work out for 4 hours on the weekends. Its too much, and your only 16, you have better things to do on weekends. Try and do activities that keep you moving, even if its walking around the mall or something else. Another thing, you should increase your calorie intake some, maybe closer to 1500 to 2000, especially if your working out.

I think you're setting yourself really difficult weightloss goals there! Only 1000 calories and doing so much working out will be really difficult to stick with. I think you should try the website http://www.sparkpeople.com it's really helping me at the minute! It's really good, go and have a look and see what you think! It will help you to lose weight realistically and safely, and you can put in how much you want to lose, and how long you want to take to lose it and it will tell you if it's possible/healthy to be able to do it, and calculate a workout and diet program for you. There are also communities based on similar goals, you get loads of support! I love it, it's really good!

Okay 1st of all if you are doing 2 hours of cardio and living on 1000 calories a day ur going to be sooooo worn down. plus it's def. not healthy at all. I know ur desperate to lose alot of weight in such a small amount of tiem. And believe me i was in the same situation i had lost 50 lbs. in such a short amount of time and ended up having sooo many problems. Just eat healthy around 1500-1700 calories and just do 30 min. of cardio. stay away from sweets and processed foods and the weight will just start melting off.

If you are eating your 1000 calories a day and exercising a reasonable amount you can lost two pounds per week. If your exercise is strenuous enough to raise your heartbeat it might go a little quicker. But an average of two per week is what you should count on so 50 pounts is about a half year.

I admirer your motivation. But I caution you about CRASH diets.
What you're talking about is a very good plan. But don't expect results right away. And don't kill yourself exercising right away. You have to build up to a good work out. If you kill yourself the very first time, you won't feel like exercising again.
Eating in moderation is very important. Snack on veggies instead of chips. And drink lots of lots of water.
Speaking from experience (I have been up to 70 pounds over weight in my life) don't give up!
Take one day at a time and remember to love yourself, no matter how much you weight :)

This might sound crazy but I never exercised. I maybe took a walk every now and then and tried to get 10,000 steps 3 days or more a week. I really didn't exercise much. Thing is I had gym class 3 days a week.

Your body needs at least 1,200 calories a day to function properly without exercise. Adding in a bunch of exercise may freak your body out and put it into starvation mode. Check out www.sparkteens.com and put in your info, it should give you a healthy range of calories to stay in to help you lose weight

Good luck

You won't last 2 hours of cardio :)

Just stick to 30 min of cardio every day. And eat right.
