Suicide By Dehydration

It depends on the person. Most people can't go more than 4 days with absolutely no fluids, but some have been documented to go as long as 11 days without any fluids or food. You can live a very long time on just fluids, by the way. Dehydration kills faster than starvation. However, if someone were to try to kill themselves by means of dehydration, in this day and age, they'd certainly be hospitalized after passing out and the fluids regained intravenously.

I've survived starvation for 8 months. The first phase gets your body screaming for something to eat. The second phase is when ur brains no longer alerts ur body for food and The hunger stops. The third phase sends you weak and fatigue. And remains that way. When your body is reaching total starvation your body start to feel cold easily... Your metabolism slows down and ur not burning much heat ur body starts to go into taking up ur reserves protein, fat.Later I started having water retention in my legs.. Your nerves will start aching and burning and you have a risk of getting hernia...i tore my abdominals due to this, most of ur muscles become so fragile Then slowly you'd get white outs.. This is known as vertigo. I didn't like what I felt...u hyperventilate and ur hearts racing to a near stop. Dehydration I think that is painful. And nope I didn't attempt suicide from starvation I was surviving it. And I seriously had not one thing to eat for all that months that went by. Very slow death...

Although it is difficult to live without food for more than a day or so, many people have lived a month or more without anything to eat. Even when hungry, survivors are able to reasonably function and either extricate themselves from the survival situation or wait until help arrives.

However we cannot live without water for more than a week or ten days even in the most ideal conditions. Within a day or so of going with water your body will lose its efficiency to do work. Your thinking will become cloudy and you will be prone to injury. In a dehydrated state it is difficult to rescue yourself or provide the means to survive while awaiting rescue. Therefore water is the limiting factor in typical survival situations lasting more than several days.

A long long time for food, like a month or even longer. 3-7 days for fluid. Don't do it. Terrible painful way to go. I have been dehydrated and it was excruciating pain.

It depends on the conditions and the environment. If someone is in an average home with the temperature at 70 degrees, it will take about 4 days to die of dehydration.

I tried this method starvation will take longer nothing happened after 7 days just tiredness and fatigue ,and you will get less pains.but with dehydration and starvation both only after two days I find my legs and arms and head paining terribly ...and after three days my nerves on arms were terribly paining as if they will brust and I experience as if my legs and arms are almost dead. i could nt carry it further due to so much pain.
