Not sure, but think it is a pirate version, got the computer from a friend. Excel 2007 worked fine for about 2 months now everything in the menu is not lit up and when you move around to the different boxes it just won't allow me to enter anything. It still will import stuff so I can read things. By the way, I hate everything about Microsoft Word 2007. I want to go back to an older version.
Thanks

It may be that your friend had installed a free trial version of Excel.

Hey Wildbuzz...

As was already pointed out - it appears that your computer had the 30 day free trial and the time expired.

You can purchase Excel all by itself. You don't have to purchase the entire office suite. If you are student or teacher you can get a super low price for all of office.

You can uninstall 2007 and then install an earlier version if you like.

If you want a free software package that can work with most Excel files then consider OpenOffice from Sun Microsystems. It won't run Macros or add-ins, however, and that can be important for Excel users.
