It's definitely hard to maintain a long distance relationship. If both is committed for the long haul, then it will be all worth it. I wouldn't recommend or suggest any one to have one. This is speaking from experience.

I had 3 years long distance with my husband and finally I gave in and moved to Europe to be with him for 1 year before we got married. It was a real test of commitment and until this day, it help to remind me how fortunate I am to be with him and we are to finally be together.

Happily Married with 2 kids :-))

Good Luck to those who enter long distance relationship and may you have the same love, luck, and commitment for each other as we have.

I have been in two long distance relationships... one lasted for almost 4 years and the other for 2 year. They can work if you are okay with the separation and more-so on the independent side. At some point you will reach a breaking point - obviously someone has to make a move for things to progress otherwise it's time to move on. But yes, they can work out. (neither of mine did though:)

it's not silly.. i personally believe that long distance relationships tend to show your patience, love, etc.. this is a good way to find out if that person is really the one for you.. you can test his honesty, his patience, his love, his everything during LDRs.. if you surpassed all trials in a LDR, then getting together in the future will not be that hard!

like what "someone" said.. it's HARD but POSSIBLE! and what i say, TLC will go a long way! TLC as in TRUST, LOVE and COMMUNICATION, not tender loving care! lolz!c:

why'd you ask? are you in one? if you want, i could help you because i'm in an LDR and happy about it!c:

It depends how far apart you were before the distance. Also, how long you were dating and the nature of the relationship--e.g., casual or serious. I would say it's too hard to be apart unless you can both really and truly trust each other.

They are hard.. but they are very possible. my mom had a long distance relationship with my dad once he left for the war. They still wrote to each other and everything.

I dont really ever think long distance is a good thing. But it also depends on how far away you are and how long you have been together.

hmphh.. really depends on HOW well you know the person. in a lot of cases you can fall in love, in that case you'd eventually end up seeing them, long distance isnt the way most people go, but it depends.

honestly in most cases it wont work out because with people being away freom each other its hard and they continue on their lives and meet new people and people change. No one could ever for sure answer that question, its if it works out for whoever tries them but what ive experienced is that life is too short for both people and putting your life on hold for someone who isnt there is not worth it, but like i said it depends upon the person
