I have the newer, thinner PS2. If I put a disk in and the disk will not even spin. The machine just shows the Browser and System Configuration menu on the TV. I don't know what to do. I have had the thing for over a year but I only used it a few times.

Is there some kind of "reset" button that I would need to press.

Like I said, The disk will not even spin, so I know that it's not a dirty lens.

Most likely there is something wrong internally in the hardware. I do not advise you to open up the Playstation in order to fix it. I would recomend calling Sony Customer Support and tell them your problem. This way they can help you directly

It seems obvious to me that your PS2 is broken. if you still want a PS2 i would recommend looking on ebay because there are a lot of people selling off theirs dirt cheap and they often come with accessories and multiple games.

send it back... it ussally isnt expensive at all for repair. if you have to pay anything at all... there is no reset botton.. just something is screwed up with it
