The basic unit of the Church is not the branch or ward. It is the family.

If for any reason a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) can't attend church (whether they are in Utah or Timbuktu,) they just make special arrangements with their leaders to worship. Sometimes familes worship by themselves at home because there isn't a church near enough to attend.
I'm surprised that some people think that the LDS (Mormon) church is everywhere. The church isn't allowed in many Muslim countries at all, and there are many distant cities in deserted areas like northern Canada where there aren't any members to gather and worship.

Yes you can be a mormon and not live Utah. I have several family that lives out of the state and belongs to the church. There are churches everywhere and if there is not church then people still get together and have church in someones home if it is possibly or elsewhere.

I live in London Ontario Canada and we have a Mormon Church here. So I guess you can be a Mormon and not live in Utah. As for the other part of your question I don't have an answer for that.

Yes you can become LDS and not live in Utah. As far as the church is concerned, I can't think of a place where a church isn't near by.

of course! There are members all over the world. And utah doesn't even have the highest density of them, Tonga does. If you go to lds.org i think theres a link where you can put your address in and it will make a list of the nearest ward houses.

Just ask these smart A*$ atheist, they think they know everything, just look at the smart answers they gave you. No, you don't have to be in Utah, but you should find a church to attend, how can you grow in your faith if you never attend church?

Well, while I currently live in Utah I have spent most of my life outside of it. I have lived in the following places:
Illinois, California, Ohio, Idaho, Venezuela and England.
I was active in all of those places. Sometimes we had to drive a longer distance to get to church. In Caracas we had to drive about an hour to go to an English speaking ward but we still went every Sunday.
If you want to know where the closest ward/branch is go to www.lds.org click on meetinghouse locater and put in your address. It will tell you the closest wards/branches.

There are Mormons everywhere. There are Mormon churches just about everywhere also. I have been in the smallest of bergs, and found it hard to believe that one of the biggest churches was Mormon.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and I live in Arkansas. There are many members and congregations throughout the world.
