I will also say that for science. I know that bats and birds are not related. Mental illness is not caused by an imbalance of humours, and that lice do not spontaneously emerge from dirty rags. I also know that bathing will not weaken me..so what is your point? We as a civilization move forward.

No, I don't.
When Cro-magnon man (us) appeared on the archeological scene, it was a rather sudden appearance and the early specimens were better physical specimens then we are with a larger brain capacity, we have actually 'de-volved'.
On another level, ever since Darwin came out with his theory, the proponents of evolution have been looking for the mysterious 'Missing Link' between the early primates and man. The thing that isn't brought out is that there are a whole series of 'missing links'. The is NO archeological or fossil evidence ANYWHERE showing ANY species evolving into another up the chain to man.
ALL scientific and archeological proof points to what is said in the Bible @ Genesis 1: And God proceeded to make the wild beast of the earth according to its KIND and the domestic animal according to its KIND and every moving animal of the ground according to its KIND.
We still have all the different KINDS/species that cannot inter-breed and produce viable offspring. We do see what is called 'Genetic Drift', which allows for all the different breeds/races ETC. within each KIND and even allows for a certain amount of specic adaption for enviroment because the 'survival of the fittest' factor.
Evolution has a long way to go before it can be considered a viable theory, but the public isn't supposed to know that part.
We have to keep the plebs thinking that 'SCIENCE IS ALL-KNOWING and that anyone who can't see the Emperor's new clothes is an idiot.

We did come from dirt. This is true whether you believe in God or not. Life evolved from goop or dirt if you want to call it. As for Noah's ark, there was a great flood. Now you have to remember that in those times communication isn't like it was today, plus your community was your entire world. So somehow someone started a story of Noah. By the way, there are many versions of a Noah and the flood like story through out the world.

As to our origins, I can't say that I've came down 100% on either side...but really I believe in more than two possibilities on that one.
As far as bible stories go, well, I'm going to get blasted for this one, but they are simply stories borrowed and rewritten from the books of the religions that Christianity replaced. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not bashing religion. I'm very spiritual/religious, but I've played the Telephone game when I was a kid. I remember how the message changes every time it passes to another person. So I take all that "official" biblical stuff with a grain of salt.

O.K.
I am not a fanatical Christian. In fact, I'm agnostic, but my parents are both non-fanatical Christians (as they are divorced and have not attended church in years) and they both believe in evolution (mom has a major in bio, minor in chem). Just to let you know evolution means we have a common ancestor, not that we were necessarily ever monkeys.
Yeah and all that babble about Adam being from dirt and stuff, they don't believe that either, just some of the principles, not all of the stories

Christianity is not a rational belief. The beauty of men and women does not even relate to any kind of monkey. I believe in the great flood, in Noah, and the Exodus. Some stories are allegorical, but not all.

I believe that we were made by the Father in his image.
I do not believe in the THEORY of evolution, but I think that evolution DOES exist.
We evolve when we are children, growing older to be adults.
I believe that humans can be "bred" like horses. We used to have giants back in the day, but, over the years, they kept mating with smaller people and we evolved to our size.
I think people use "fanatic" in a derogitory way. I am on fire for God, and I believe that SCIENCE can PROVE that God DOES exist.
Who's to say that God didn't make a big explosion to create the universe? (The Big Bang Theory)
I believe science is just figuring out HOW God did it. Not WHO did it. Because I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, God did.

A lot of clear minded, rational Christians believe that the bible is not literal at all times. God inspired evolution of many species, even shape of earth (tectonic plates) etc are all under His control, shaping over billions of years. Most rational christians don't believe in LITERAL 6 days to make the earth, in real time it could have happened over billiions of years.

Even non-fanatical Christians believe in the creation of the first man and woman who did not evolve from a lower species. We also believe in the great flood as spoken of in the bible. It takes bible reading along with historical and scientific research to come to these conclusions.

Chimps are purely as developed as people. Chimps have adapted to a various surroundings. ask your self this, how long might you nevertheless exist bare and on my own contained in the direction of a jungle? After the human/chimp chop up, between 4.5 and seven million years in the past, diverse environmental pressures brought about diverse evolutionary paths for the two species. To borrow a quote, you are going to be able to think of people are greater developed as a results of fact of all we've performed, Civilization, Agriculture, McDonald's, Politics, conflict. whilst all the Chimps have completed is play interior the jungle and devour banana's. despite the fact that maximum Chimps evaluate themselves to be greater developed for precisely the comparable reason.
