I hate it and want to ditch it but my grandmother says its "tradition". What are other people planning to do?

I have a while to decide, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to decline any organ music.

It's a nice tradition, but there's so many lovely instruments out there that (as another user said) just sound so much prettier. I'd keep the tunes, but I'm ditching the organ myself :)

NO, I enjoyed the organ... i will no longer be able to have faith people could desire a CD, i could evaluate that much less costly. i admire the organ!! Organ is the classic music of a marriage so i do no longer understand why people save saying funeral. Organ gamers are very expertise people and could make the songs energetic and upbeat. Our organ participant became a real artist and proffesional, she did one in each of those gorgeous pastime. here comes the bride is an organ music!

My wedding will be very untraditional.

We will not walk down an aisle. We'll have a dinner and say our vows. The music played will be composed by Danny Elfman...cds of course...I wish we could afford him LOL

We also do not intend to dance. We will have a dance floor for those who want to though. We're just not the dancing type.

It's your wedding, you do what you want. Make your own tradition.

We did not have organ music. It may be traditional, but I think it is also rather old-fashioned. Today, traditions are changing, and it seems that almost anything goes!

One of my cousins had an outdoor wedding..the establishment had a small white vine covered gazebo just for such events.........she came down the 'asile' to the sound of a single violin (live) playing a classical piece...beautiful.....

another summer wedding I attended had a lone guitarist...I don't recall the exact name of the song he sang/played as she came down the asile but here again it was quaint and very, very lovely...the entire church(it was small) was lit only by candle light and the overall mood was beautiful.....

i definitely do NOT want an organ played at my wedding. I want a pianist, string quartet or something beautiful to play.

Of course we didn't. We had a traditional church ceremony, and my friend played instrumental pieces on a concert bandura (a Ukrainian stringed instrument). It was SO beautiful!

As long as there's plenty of that other 'organ music' later, I'm not fussy what they play at the ceremony.
