If you are happy and live a joyful life you thank God. If you are unhappy and immersed in woes and worries for no fault of yours, you blame yourself or an undefined evil fate for it if you are pious in your thoughts.

It is here that you blame your fate or past karma. That helps you by healing your wounds and relieving you of your pain to some extent. The phenimenon you speak of does you no harm but some solace only.

If only you can fully understand this phenomena you can find liberation. This phenomena signifies that a man has to go beyond the pleasures and pains of physical body to find his true nature, a man's true nature is the blissful soul that is liberated from the travails and miseries of physical body. If you can maintain an equilibrium of mind under happiness and adversity, you will surely find Nirvana or the perfect bliss. Millions of lifetimes are wasted by individuals to attain this equilibrium of mind, but once this equilibrium is attained one attains liberation.

This phenomenon would be the one called wishful thinking. You want there to be a god, so you look for one in the good things. Something bad happens, and it couldn't possibly have been god. Or if it was he's punishing you or testing you or doing it for a reason. Of course.

It is acommon weakness of an ordinary man, who has never bothered to understand the world around him and its Creator,
as well as, the relations between Him and himself!
Prophet Aiyub (Job in the Holy Bible), was blessed by God with very many comforts and luxuries. Yet he was very dutiful to his Lord.
Satan mocked that his piety and sense of gratitude are due to his privilleges only. If they are denied he too would complain loudly!
God so caused that in a short time he lost every thing and left with only one dutiful wife!
He was made to suffer with a strange disease, which made people shun his very sight!
Never did he complain,as a true Muslim (in the sense of one who surrenders himself before the supreme will of God)
and fully accepted his station in life,
Atlast he prayed: "Oh Lord! adversity afflicts me, and you are the most merciful of all who show mercy!"
The God relented and he was restored with all that was taken away from him!
The moral is " "we mortals have to accept the superior will's decision wih a bowed head!" he who caused the "difficulties" is sure to replace them with "ease", ere long!

May be guilt, my friend, move away from it.Good or Bad both happen because of our previous actions including omissions and commissions, you can overcome all these only by concentrating on the good conduct( not hurting others in thoughts, deeds and speech) from now on, you can erase all your past ills and then the God's grace descend on you; you will be blessed!

In anguish everyone prays to Him, in joy does none
To One who prays in happiness, how sorrow can come

This phenomenon is very common. It is a result of wrong or incomplete knowledge. You think u r responsible judge of what is happening which is grossly wrong. You are not allowed to take the job of god in ur hand. It is his job to evaluate & reward.
Take a look at the following story...

a mouse goes out in night in search of food for self & family(responsible, good work). He is directed to a basket of fruits by good smell ( nothing wrong). He cuts away aportion of basket to grab fruit, but there is a snake in the basket(close to food but can't eat it). The snake gets food at last(effortless but after a long time). The mouse looses life and family is deprived of a member as well as food.

Now, what is the fault of mouse?
why snake gets food without effort?

apparently there is no fault, it is only the fate created by may be some bad acts in this or previous birth, but certainly, it is an act of god and there is nothing else to think over.
BELIEVE IN THEORY OF KARMA. It will solve many such issues and u will stop cursing god.

no, when I am happy and living a joyful life (which I pretty much am), I thank me, I thank me for being so kind and accepting towards me, and for giving myself the time and space to truly be me.
