I'm just curious. Throughout my life my grandparents were always there for me. Unfortunately, both of my grandfather's are dead. So I spend time with my grandmothers. In fact, I went on several vacations recently with my maternal grandmother. On my 26th birthday I'm planning to take my her with me to Venice,Italy.

Suki's mom, I have plenty of friends my age. Its just that when someone looses their spouse after 52 years of marriage they tend to be,ummmmmmmmm LONELY. Who to better than to cheer them up than their FAMILY. Thanks for showing your ignorance.

Slickback, you are awesome! I adored my grandma......she was my treasure and my darling. How I would have loved to do something special for her like you will do for your sweet grandma. But my grandma has been gone from here for about ten years.

In answer to your question, I now have four grandchildren and none of them live by me. So I get to see them about once a year when they all come to me. My first grandson Zane is 4 and a half and he is my pride and joy! His daddy makes sure that even though we live far apart, that he knows me and sees my picture and we get to talk on the phone.

I need my grandbabies near me!

That is a really sweet thing to do. I myself had a grandmother who wasn't very nice. She's long passed. My mother when I gave her a grandchild it was great for her. She loved my daughter and did so much for her. They to this day had a special bond and I definitely knew I wanted to model myself after my own mother.

Today, I have my own grandson. I was never into kids much but when he came along, all this changed. I love this little boy so much. He is so spoiled it's not even funny. My daughter has to bring him to me because he's always asking about me. Pretty much anything within reason he wants, I give him. He's almost 4 years old and I picture us one day taking a trip or something when he's older. I just hope that he has great memories of me one day.

I spend as much time with my grandchild as possible. She is my queen. She is only 19 months old. But I am going to be the best grandma ma to her that anyone could ever have. I think a trip with your grandma would be a delight. Cherish her. I never had any of my grandparents.

Yes, with one of them in particular. Joseph is 4 and he's a rascal. He's the light of my life with his cheeky smile. We adore each other and spend a lot of time playing games and talking in silly pretend voices that the grownups shake their heads at, but we don't care!

Our current favourite game is Pteradactyl, where he has his snapping plastic pteradactyl, and I chase him around the house pretending to be the pteradactyl eating monster. He shrieks with laughter.

We really don't care what the grown ups think !! :o)
