Married people no doubt. Misery loves company you know.

50% of first marriages end in divorce. How many more wish they were divorced?

When you find someone you just absolutely can't survive without, get married. Until then you are better off. Trust me.

Well, think about it like this... if someone thinks this person is an awful person, they wouldn't want them married to anyone. So think of it as a compliment.

Instead of this, "Oh, John is a HORRIBLE person! He never washes, his clothes look like they came out of a dumpster, his manners are atrocious!! It's a GOOD THING he's NOT married!"

... isn't this idea so much better... "Oh, John is the nicest gentleman I've ever met! He carries himself so well, he is so well-spoken, he's always polite, and treats everyone like they're royalty! I just cannot imagine why John isn't married? Frankly, if I had to do it all over again, I'd snap him up in a heartbeat!"

Well?

Would you want the answer to be:

"Well, I'm GLAD you're single! I wouldn't wish you on my worst enemy's daughter!"

or...

"Well, I can't see WHY you want to remain single! You're SUCH a SWEET guy!"

Have a polite day.

There's nothing wrong with that. You are the one living your life, you shouldn't let societal pressures try to push you into a lifestyle that doesn't work for you.

The stereotypes around women being single all thier lives are not nice either: 1) old maid 2) cougar

There are a lot of negative attitudes about being married here, but heres another perspective: many of us, happy in our marriages, realizing how much more fulfilling our lives are now that we have found the one who really completes and compliments us in every way, wishes the same happiness on others...unfortunately, some of us happily marrieds become so ethnocentric in our life situation and cannot see that for others, they may find the same sort of happiness in their single life.

For my part, I hope that whatever you need to fulfill all of your needs and desires comes into your life. :)

One of my friends who wasn't married at 25 kept getting the "why aren't you married, are you gay?" comment.

My brother is unmarried at 40 and my mother says that she would feel sorry for any girl who married him, he is such a chauvinist, he takes after dad.
