I am having a tough time deciding on what color of window treatments to go with in our family room. The walls are painted a golden yellow and our furniture is a chocolate brown sectional with a brown recliner and an accent chair that is multi-colored taupe, yellow, red, and brown. It is faint since the stripes are very small. It is an awesome family room. We also have hardwoods. Please help with what color window treatments would look best. We have a large bay window with a doorwall and three other large windows. Thanks!

I would have to say red. Maybe even red with yellow gold stripes. But, that would depend on the style of your room. It sounds like it is pretty traditional, so I would go with red with gold stripes or chocolate brown with stripes of gold or red. I like that you have kept the color scheme consistent. You could even go with a print. Or, what about wooden blinds in the same chocolate hue as your sofa? You have many possibilities. Bravo to you for NOT picking "safe colors."

Seems like lots of nice colors in there...I'd say white perhaps?? Might look nice against the golden yellow walls and a nice contrast with the hardwood color and brown furniture. Will lighten up the windows and accent them a bit I think.

It sounds like they are pretty warm colors. If you are adventurous, try a red that complements the reds in the chair. My best friend's old house had butter yellow walls, a chocolate brown sectional, and an accent chair that was yellow with little specs of red in the pattern & she had deep red silk curtains, it looked fabulous!

It's hard to say without seeing your room but with the limited info, I would say chocolate brown drapes with maybe an outside single stripe that picks up one of your other room colors. This really is better left to a professional. I have people come in to see and help me with my windows and decor. It works so much better to have people come in and work with you for your room and decor for a final result. It's an impact piece when you are doing windows. You don't want to make it a do it yourself item.

I would go with wood blinds the same color as the floor....Then whip on them there valance thingys loosley draped over a rod with tie backs, the color of those would be wheat, like ripened wheat!
