Death wish, no. Hopes to make some change, yes.

Do you mean Benazir Bhutto? No, I don't believe she had a death wish. She was a strong woman who saw injustices and wanted to make a difference. She knew what the dangers were but chose to go on with her plans rather than let cowards stop her. She was a strong woman in a society that does not admire strong women. To continue down her path did not mean she had a death wish, it meant that she was heroic.

If people would just realize that when the power of love overcomes the love of power, there will be peace. Bhutto did not have a death wish. She wanted a liberated and democratic country in one of the most terror-riddled parts of the world.

The same could be said of Martin Luther King who kept pushing even though he know it would probably cost him his life (recall the speech he gave a few days before his death in which he seemed to sense he wouldn't "make it to the mountaintop" with his supporters). Bhutto had a mission and was brave enough to see it through at any cost. MLK is but one other example of heroes like Bhutto who were willing to sacrifice themselves for a worthy cause.

I don't think so. She was a very determined and committed person who lost her Father and two Brothers to those who feared democracy. They also conspired against her twice to have her removed from office. She had a purpose and many dreams to fulfill. UInfortunately, her courage and convictions would not allow her to see just how much danger she was in.

Give me a break. This is the same syndrome that you have with Hillary Clinton; an inability to read the signs and keep your freaking head down. That is why 'Gorillas in the Mist' ended so badly. To be more direct, idealism has never fared well in the world of politics. Do not lose sight of the fact that her husband was in a hurry to bury her without an autopsy.

I say no. She wanted to bring order to a country that was/is... well... from how the news makes it looks..... feral.

I look up to her though. She was a brave woman to attempt this. Also, from listening to her, she was very smart, and if she had lived, she probably WOULD have been able to clean the country up.

I don't think she wanted to die, but was willing to. She was trying to improve the lives of the people, and was willing to die for her beliefs. She was an impressive person.
