I just keep a special stack of dog towels and give them a good rubbing down. Took them a little bit of time to get used to it but just have fun with it and soon they'll look forward to it!
If they are still a little wet after, just give them a few minutes in the room they enter the house through after rubbing them down. After the rub down it usually doesn't take long at all.

Have a dry towel waiting by the door. Rub the pup down. Never had a dog that was bothered by that, in fact, most think it's a fun game. :)

Blow dryer, on the other hand, can scare a dog that's not used to it.

a blow dryer would be great but most dogs hate the noise-towel is choice number 2

I use towels since my dogs are petrified of blow dryers. If you decide to use a blow dryer make sure it is on a warm/cool setting, not a hot setting, OK?

you can use either a towel or dryer.
the towel will leave the dog a bit damp and can if in a draft catch a cold.
However do realize when you blow dry any and most loose hair will blow all over teh place.

Just towel dry the dog! I have towels just for the dogs to dry them off when they come in.

A couple of towels work pretty well. Saves on electricity, too. Your dog will just shake off the excess water, too.
