Sabbath is special to me because it is a time I am able to set aside to spend with God. It is a day He has said He will set aside especially for me! It shows His love for me because He wants to set aside a day for me and I am able to show my love for Him by making sure to spend that time with him.
Saturday is so filled with most of the world running around and shopping and so caught up in the politics of life. Saturday is one day that I can block out all the hustle and bustle and spend it thinking about God and how awesome He is. It is a time to spend with my family and enjoying nature as well. It reminds me how good God really is.

The Sabbath has no special meaning to me at all. The Sabbath was given to the Jews only because it was to be a reminder that God brought them out of Egypt. It is not meant for Christians to keep today. We worship God on the first day of the week (Sunday) which the Lord commanded us to do. The Sabbath was on Saturday.

Because I'm a workaholic and if it wasn't for my weekly Friday Sunsets I would probably never rest. Sabbath is the day that I have to spend quality time with God in spirit and mind without feeling like I have somewhere to be or things that have to be done. God Blessed that timeframe so that He could spend that time with us, and He blesses us with peace and what we need when we chose to worship Him on His Holy day. Without the Sabbath my relationship with Him would probably be non existent. Have you every truly been able to love someone you never spent time with? Thank God He thought of it. Thats my story!
Oh, by the way about worshiping God the way He commands, there's a story in Genisis about Cain and Able. Interestingly enough this is a story about 2 young men who were both instructed to worship in a particular way. 1 obeyed God, and 1 worshipped in his own way. Cain was given into his sin and hatred and killed his brother because he was envious of the fact that Able's sacrifice was pleasing to God, and his own was not accepted. God does not just accept what we think is best or what we prefer, if He asks us to obey in a certain way, he will only bless us if we are humble enough to do his will.

It is so easy to lose sight of what is really important through the week as I struggle to live my life, earn my pay, and get along with my wife. The devil likes to get me distracted in the cares of this world and feeling like I have to stand up for what is fair -- not only with the other people, the non-believing @#$%^&*s whom frequent R&S just for the fun of stirring up trouble and spewing their own self-loathing on everyone, but also against the uncaring criticisms which come out of my wife's mouth.
The Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath gives me a chance to step back from all that and remember that my Creator God in Heaven loves me. He created the Sabbath Day in which I might find rest in Him. I can't imagine what kind of hopeless and helpless life I would have without Sabbath Day in which God always heals me to go out and face another week.
God bless.

I love it because it is a day I can really focus on the Lord and all his Blessings. and I don't have to worry about anything pertaining to work. I love it just to have a care free day. The Lord wants us to rest on that day and focus on him. and that gives me a chance t try to help other with my prayers. I do-it every day anyhow but the Sabbath is so special. Praise be to God.

Its the one day a week I can set aside all my stress and anxiety, if I will let myself, and focus on my Savior. Its a day to re-commit, and as I tell myself, re-fuel for the week ahead. Its my spiritual boost that keeps me going. A day of worship and study. I love the Sabbath.

I remember His teaching...Man was not made for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath was made for man.
I also remember my room mate from college explaining what his Rabbi taught....that Sabbath is to be a taste of the days to come.... no work needed... full fellowship with the family... every activity is one dedicated to the Lord
The Sabbath.... a taste of Heaven.... I like that.

Because I get to stop everything else and just spend time with God in church, in nature, with friends, reading books.....just take time to get to know Him better. I don't have to feel guilty not working and cleaning and doing lots of stuff....because He made that day especially for us to REST!!
