Getting him fixed will help with the sexual aspect of him not wanting to go after any and all females in heat.
Now the main thing that you need to work on is the BEHAVIOR aspect.
There are 2 easy ways to teach a dog not to jump on you. The first way is to simply turn your back to the dog when ever he jumps on you - don't make any eye contact.
The second way sounds a bit cruel - but really just makes him pay attention. The second way is KNEE HIM REALLY HARD IN THE CHEST and say the command DOWN!!!
Do this each and every time he jumps on you and soon enough he will realize that he will get kneed and stop jumping.
Another thing to teach him is the command of SIT. I make my dogs SIT before they have their food put down in front of them. The SIT command reinforces 2 things - that you are the master and he must obey and is a safety issue as well ( especially now that you are pregnant).
I have a 5 year old 103 lb German Shepherd and a 77 lb female German Shepherd they both see the food bowl and almost automatically sit.
I am assuming that you feed him table scraps while you eat at the table.
FEED HIM BEFORE YOU EAT!!!!!!!!! When you feed him - set a timer for about 15 minutes - if he has not eaten all of his food by then, take up the food. Do not free feed him ( leave food out all the time). Only feed him once a day and he should be fine. Also try to feed him around the same time every day so that he know when he will be fed. Do this to him like you put a baby on a feeding schedule. It will make your life so much easier!!!!!!
Then go ahead and eat yourselves. DO NOT FEED HIM ANY FOOD FROM THE TABLE. Mkae him go away or either ignore him when you are eating or put him in another room are my suggestions.
The last thing I would suggest is to get him into an obedience class.
Good luck - don't back down or this dog will rule your life.

Getting him neutered would definetly be a good start. An unaltered dog can smell a female in heat a mile away. Then he will go alittle nuts. Neutering him will not correct his other behavioral issues though.
How much excersice does he get daily? After he has run and let off some steam a good controlled walk about 30 minutes a day will do wonders for any dog.
When he jumps lift your leg so that he will fall into your knee. It's hard to explain in words but you don't want to kick at him. You just lightly put your leg up so your knee is the first thing his chest will touch. If done right it doesn't hurt it's just annoying to your dog and he won't want to jump up anymore.
Never feed him from your hand or from the table. We rescued a dog a couple years ago and the day we brought him home he took a sandwich right out of my husbands hand as it was going to his mouth. We didn't wip him we just never gave him anything we were eating. When we did give him treats we put them in his food bowl. That way he didn't associate our hands with food. Often when he wants a treat he goes to his food bowl and then looks at us. We didn't teach him this but know when were eating he goes and lays down.
The main thing to work on is being the dominent one over the dog. Good ways to show dominence are:
Mix his food with your hands. When he eats he will smell your scent and think that you ate first.
Always go out the door before he does. Be the pack leader.
If you are leash walking him he should either be behind you alittle or right beside you. Never should he walk in front of you on a leash.
If you are still having trouble with him you may want to call around and get some information on obedience training for him. It would be good for him to socialize with other dogs and people too if he doesn't already.
Good Luck and you can do it.

First, yes, getting him altered would help. Also, you might want to find a Petco/smart or some similar beginners training course. That could work wonders. Puppies do have tons of energy. Makes sure he has tons of outlets for that energy and that will help as well. Kongs are great and of course walks are too. Pits are very intelligent and love to have tasks to perform. If you enjoy behavior class, you could probably keep going to the higher level ones with him. It is important that you get him in control soon before these behaviors become habit and become harder for you to correct. That's to say it will just save you time to get a move on now :)

First yes, get him fixed... second... no dog is born trained. you need to take him to training classes. "raised him to be very playful but now that hes older, bigger and a lot more stronger and he doesn't no his own strength" so you taught him that what he is doing now is ok.... so training classes are in order... not his fault, he is just being a happy dog!

If you are having a baby, your dog needs to learn that a crate is his best friend. When company comes over, put him in the crate. When you are eating, in the crate.
Neutering will help, do that ASAP. Also, a general obedience class will help too.

sounds like he wasn't raised well enough to be honest.
not trying to be mean but I feel that you should know please don't take it as a put down.
also, does he have somebody that can take him out and run around and play with him? if he doesn't get to work out that famous pit bull energy he will act up and get frustrated.
it sounds like thats what he needs, along with plenty of socialization with other dogs, to get out the dog aggression

Get him fixed.
Go to obedience classes together.
Look up NILIF (nothing in life is free). Use it.
Good luck.
These dogs need structure, training, and LOTS of exercise.
