That is a great question. In my church we believe in eternal marriage. Not only are we married here but in heaven for eternity. Your husband would still be your husband. If you believe in the doctrines of the Bible both the Old and New Testaments, then here are some references for you;

Eccl. 3:14 - Whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever...

Matt. 16:19 (18:18) Whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven...

Mark 10:9 - What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put assunder...

1 Cor. 11:11 - Neither is the man without the woman...in the Lord...

Eph. 5:31 A man...shall be joined unto his wife...be one flesh...

1 Pet. 3:7 Heirs together of the grace of life...

Gen. 2:18-24 And the Lord God said, it is not good for man to be alone, I will make him an help meet for him....
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.

One of the things I know to be true is that God answers prayers. Ponder in your heart about what you have read and studied about the possibility of Eternal Marriage, then take it to the Lord and ask him directly and specifically if this is a true eternal principal and where you can go to receive it. You will know when the Lord is answering your prayer(s) when the Holy Ghost or Spirit witnesses it to you. You feel peace, warmth, Happiness, joy, and completely enlightened.

Galations 5:22 describes what the fruits of the Spirit are. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, pwace, longsuffering, against such, there is no law.

Also in James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to al men liberally and upbraideth (Scold or reproach) not and it shall be given him....but let him ask in faith. (beleiving that you will really receive an answer)

I hope that this helps. If you have any questions or need any clarifications or perhaps you have more questions let me know. Have a good one.

The Bible tells us, “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:30). This was Jesus’ answer in response to a question concerning a woman who had been married multiple times in her life – who would she be married to in heaven (Matthew 22:23-28)? Evidently, there will be no such thing as marriage in heaven. This does not mean that a husband and wife will not longer know each other in heaven. This also does not mean that a husband and wife could not still have a close relationship in heaven. What it does seem to indicate, though, is that a husband and wife will no longer be married in heaven. There is likely no purpose for marriage in heaven since there is no procreation or loneliness.

Truly, I never heard that before, I always thought I would be reunited with my spouse. I'm not trying to put you on the spot, but can you tell us exactly where in the Bible that is? I would very much like to study that. OR did your pastor mention this in a sermon?

You really got me thinking now.

Your Answer....!

(Rev 21:4) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

(Rev 21:5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

(Rev 21:6) And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

AND.....

(Mark 12:24) And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

(Mar 12:25) For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

We will Not Just walk aroung Heaven! We will have THINGS.... To Do!

(1Corinthians 2:9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Thanks for Asking ! RR

I don't think marriage is just nothing in this life or the next. I believe that love lasts forever and for always - that our energy when united with another is Divine.

I don't know what your answer is but I do hope you find one that makes you feel better about the situation.

I am Atheist. Sometimes I feel it is only fair to state that up front...
I am very much in love with my husband. I adore him. He makes me feel so much love and joy I feel like I am the luckiest girl in world. With my lack of a belief in God comes a lack of a belief in any sort of afterlife. I do my best to show and tell him how much he means to me. In the hopes that should his last breath be taken before mine I will have no regrets. It is my hope that the example of our love will pass to our daughters and they too will know what it is to be truly cherished. Whether you believe in a heaven or not. The life you live with someone who loves you is never going to be nothing. It may even be the best something of your life.
Peace to you.

You are young and do not understand. You husband will be Jesus. Not is a sexual manner. It will NOT matter to you that you aren't married to you earthly husband in the least. Do not fret over this. Jesus loves and knows you better than anyone. You will be happy in heaven!

The Bible does say there will be no male or female, no marriage in heaven. But we WILL know one another. Our chief love will be CHRIST. He will be our total focus. You won't be focused on anything but Him! It won't matter there what you have had or felt here.

Enjoy your life here, and know that Heaven is going to be beyond anything you can imagine, beyond what you have here.

The Lord wants you to be happy here. So BE HAPPY!!!
