Eat the heck out of some chocolate?
It can't be a caffeine thing if you can eat chocolate right? Also what about HOT chocolate? Are hot drinks allowed. I am confused.

Mormons do not use illegal drugs and cigarettes, or drink coffee and black tea. The Bible contains many dietary restrictions that God revealed through Biblical prophets. The Mormon health code was also revealed from God through a prophet named Joseph Smith. If you'd like to read the revelation Joseph received, you can find a copy at http://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/89 .

As I mentioned, Mormons do not drink coffee or black tea. Though God has not explained the reason, many Mormons believe it is because of caffeine, which has detrimental health effects. Mormons do drink hot chocolate, and some Mormons also drink caffeinated soda (although some choose not to).

The Word of Wisdom actually prohibits the drinking of wine, strong drink and tobacco and hot drinks. It also encourages the liberal consumption of herbs and grains, and to limit the use of animal products.

The WoW has nothing to say against caffeine itself, though that is how it has been interpreted.

I've included the like to the entire WoW (don't worry, it's really short). Check it out, it's pretty cool stuff :)

Chocolate contains very little caffeine; it has theobromine, a similar but distinct chemical. And most hot chocolate contains little actual chocolate.

The Word of Wisdom is more about discipline, than avoiding certain things per se.

It's a personal choice to avoid caffeine. I don't think it's a caffeine thing.

It's not a caffeine thing, that's a personal decision. Also, hot drinks refers to coffee not to hot chocolate.

The W of W says no hot drinks, which was later determined to be coffee and tea. It does not specifically forbid caffeine.
