You've got me there. Heh, it could be that none of them are true because from what I hear from Abraham's God followers, anything that is 98% true is still false. How is there anything that is 100% true? That's steering towards nihilism or something.

Two people can look at the same thing and have different ideas about it. The same idea applies to interpretation of the Bible. All Christian denominations contain elements of the truth. Some are more true to the Bible than others, but I don't think any denomination has gotten it quite right yet.

Every denomination claims they are the true one. There are so many because no two groups agree on how the Bible should be interpreted. Even if you have two people from the same denomination, they won't agree.

Diversity is a good thing, but disunity is not. If two churches disagree doctrinally, debate and dialogue over the Word may be called for. This type of “iron sharpening iron” (Proverbs 27:17) is beneficial to all. If they disagree on style and form, however, it is fine for them to remain separate. This separation, though, does not lift the responsibility Christians have to love one another (1 John 4:11-12) and ultimately be united as one in Christ (John 17:21-22).

Because different people interpret the Bible differently. Therefore there are different denominations. No one really knows which is the "true religion". It's different for everyone. That's why I won't ever say that someone is wrong about what they believe. I can disagree with them, but never say that they are wrong just because I believe differently than they do. That's what makes us who we are.

There are so many that think this verse isn't important, that one is that different denominations have sprung up.
I am a Christian Preacher and I think the entire Bible is true and relevant for to-day.
Do I claim to understand it all, no.

Because it's a people's religion: Made by the people, for the people. You don't like chocolate in your cake? Here, go to this restaurant. They'll put butterscotch in it, instead. Don't like butterscotch? Here, go to that other restaurant down the road. They'll make it with tons of vanilla. Christianity is not a one-size-fits-all religion. If you don't like one type, there are lots of others to pick and choose from, according to what they pick and choose out of the bible. Believe it or not, but bible-based Christianity has its own "pick and choose" as well. You don't like the Assemblies of God? Go to The Way Ministries or Faith Bible Church. Sovereign Grace is a good one. Or how about Harvest Christian Fellowship?
I'd rather go to Baskin Robbins. The ingredients are easier to swallow.

Good question! Actually, most protestant religions (I'll limit it to protestant since you said they follow the Bible) Have very similar views on the larger subjects, like salvation and Heaven. They may disagree on smaller points like worship style, the role of men and women, what kind of music to use and such. I know it seems like they are very different, but they also have much in common. Also, the Bible is a very complex book, and scholars have been debating it's meaning since it was written. Also, sometimes people have their own personal agenda, and they tend to go to the denomination that fits their own feelings, not always for Biblical reasons.
I know I didn't name which denomination is correct, as you have to find that out for yourself. I have recently changed myself, as I learn more about God's Word, I realize that I may have been mistaken previously. I guess that makes us human.

Jesus said: "Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Since this profound Word was given, there have been a direct line of Popes from Peter seen to this day with the present Pope Benedict XVI. One can go back through the entire History: see link below showing 266 Popes to Benedict XVI stemming from Peter.
There was in the Middle Ages a period called the Protestant Reformation. The link below discusses Martin Luther and his break with the Catholic Hierarchy that led to the formation of Lutheranism and many other denominational reforms from Calvinism and other forms.
We would point out that the Covenant with Christ the Lord is built upon the foundation of the priesthood and the Sacred Liturgy of the Mass and the Sacraments. The Mass and the Sacraments are directly traced to the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood at the Last Supper, and other events in the life of Christ.
The Link below from the Catechism shows the basis upon which the Church's Teachings are founded.
The division caused by breaking with the fullness of the Covenant has caused Christians everywhere a sadness and a longing for Unity with Christ. This desire for oneness is like the Advent prayer for Christ to be born or to come again within our midst with a profoundly moving call to holiness. In this we see the need for the four marks of the Church:
One (Union with Pope), Holy (Divine Origin), Catholic (universal) and Apostolic (stemming from the Apostles.)
Pope John Paul II initiated a great effort within the Church to go back and to document the historic ramifications of troubles within the Church and to make a determination of the affect of either the good choices or the bad choices made on the part of the hierarchy of the Church, to see how some reparation might be made for a failure of efforts on the part of the Church or to give appropriate credit within the Church to those who made a significant contribution to making a just cause for peace and greater good in the world.
We see that he made great strides in closing divisions among peoples and religions and we are very grateful for the work of so great a saint within our midst. We believe that this work will continue with his successor and bring with it a movement towards peace.

Because there is a Democrat Party and a Republican Party
Does that make the constitution untrue. No! it is because of human error. Not having the ability to understand what the writer was trying to say. And also it is because of corruption and degeneration of morals. The majority in the citys of Sodom and Gomorrah found it perfectly acceptable to be Homosexuals and molesters, God sent two Angels there with a different political view. The majority tried to rule in the situation and sexually molest the Angels of God. The Angels were not democrats or democratic. They simply used the authority of the one who has the final say. It does not matter what the majority says is truth. Only what God says is truth. God says it is good to be the salt of the earth,
So he turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into salt
And now they are in agreement with God.

I would opine that the same could be said of all religions. How many different sects are there in Islam, Judiasm, et al. No two people are going to agree all the time on any one thing. What is wrong with a different viewpoint. Variety is the spice of life and keeps you thinking. happy new year...
