29 bit young to have hip Arthritis!
When your first few steps out of bed in the morning cause severe pain in the heel of your foot, you may have plantar fasciitis (fashee-EYE-tiss). It's an overuse injury affecting the sole or flexor surface (plantar) of the foot. A diagnosis of plantar fasciitis means you have inflamed the tough, fibrous band of tissue (fascia) connecting your heel bone to the base of your toes. This can affect the hip.
The treatment is anti-inflammatory medications, rest, and rehabilitation under the guidance of PT.
Therefore you need to first get diagnosis and treatment from a Doc, certainly not pop pain killers and go out running as this will just mask the pain and cause more damage. Good Luck

Hey There,

Yes you can get pain medication prescribed by a doctor to start your workout routine.

Here's what I recommend if you want to lose the weight for a healthier future :

- No Sodas, Juices, Pastas, Breads, Potatoes .
- Don't eat after 7 PM.
- Make sure you exercise at the end of the day when you are sure you are not going to eat more.
- Since you are 50 lbs overweight, I recommend you start off slow especially since you have arthritis in hip, minimum 3-4 times a week, 20-30 min total running exercise - treadmill, not outside since treadmill provies more cushion for the body so there isn't too much force applied to the joints. You do not have to do 20-30 mins continuous at one time if you are unable to run as much, you can break it apart to ten min incremints.
- Cardio is what makes you lose weight the best, since it burns fat because you use plenty of oxygen to do it.
-Do not lift weights, you do not need to gain muscle.
-Also make sure you cutting your calories from what you are eating right now by about 500-600 calories a day.

Good luck! and you will see results very fast if you follow this.

DO NOT take the pain meds first. You can injure yourself and not know it until the pain meds wear off. Your body also does not respond as well as it should when you have medications in your system. My doctor told me do whatever exercises first then a hot shower and a pain pill after. He said the trick is to not over do at first, allow the body to adjust to the fact your making it move in a different way.
Remember start by streaching, move slowly it will let you know how far you can go. If it's a little uncomfortable your alright, if it's actually painful your over doing it. Don't take off running, start by walking just a little faster than normal, then walk faster, allow your body to work. As your muscles adjust and you warm up start a jog, then speed up to a run, Do Not try to break a land speed record.. When you have ran the lenght of time you want then start backing off, slow down to a jog, then down to a walk. When you stop streach a little to allow the muscels to return to their proper alignment. Over a couple weeks you'll find your able to run longer and easier. Before you start this though go to the doctor and discuss it with him. He needs to check your blood pressure and listen to your heart maybe even run an EKG to make sure your healthy enough to start this. Good Luck and may the New Year find your pockets full of money, your heart full of love and less of you to love. :-)

Pain is something that is hard to deal with, it can make or
break your day. When my arthritis pain and fractures plus
Parkinson's , I call someone, go out amongst people, exercise, and take med's if I can't break the pounding.
Weight adds to pain, but being too thin can also hurt your cause. Sometimes showers of hot hot water can distract the
tension long enough to bring relief. Never give into the pain
and never let it depress you. We can manage our day to day pain if we cast an iron will! If you need more on this

I know your arthritis is very painful, my mom has a lot of it, even in her spine. I have more pains now. I have a little arthritis in my right hand thumb joint and pain in the bone in my left hip. My neck also gets sore and painful. I've had headaches all my life though and those continue.
