And my boyfriend(who is already over there, and his visa runs out end of august) applys for a holiday visa for 3 months, do you think he will be entitled to it?... im not planning on going over untill may, and was planning on getting a visa for 3 months but i didnt know you couldnt work, so now ill have to get the visa for 6-12 months.... is this the only way i can go about it? also... can anyone tell me any cheap airlines to fly from scotland to melburne? and how long will i have to wait after my application, for my visa?? ... sorry if im not making any sence....

Once you are in Australia you cannot change or extend your visa except under very special circumstances. Your boyfriend will not get an extension when his visa runs out, he will be expected to leave. He can, of course, apply for a new visa once he is out of the country so he could pop over to New Zealand to do it.
