I went to get my chihuahua the Super5Mix Lamb or Chicken and they were out of both, the only thing they had was the new Wellness Core reduced fat, he's been on it for about 3 weeks, and he's doing well on it.....he's not overweight.......he likes it just as much as the other ones. I shoulded have waited last minute to get is dogfood. Has anyone else tried it or heard about it?

To check any foods I use this very useful site. It has received 6 stars which is the max.
I personally actually did just switch my dogs over to it as well.

Honesly, don't worry about it. Expensive dog food really is a luxury and I think that your family is doing the best that it can under the circumstances. If you know somebody that has a costco membership, try the Kirkland brand lamb and rice formula dog food. It is really good considering the price...I think that it is about $20 for a 40lb bag. People...you can't tell a 13 year old girl to HOME MAKE her dogs' food! It takes months of study, plus visits to the vet etc to make sure the the food is balanced. The only *true* reason to stay away from corn is if the dog has allergies. I would personally not feed a food that has corn in it, but for a vast majority of dogs, it is ok. Again, no on the homemade food. Have you seen the price of fresh veggies lately?

All of my dogs are on the wellness core. It is good food and my dogs like it they are on their second bag. They have been eating it for two months now(i think it has been that long?? I can't recall how long ago I got the food) and they are doing well. I have no problems with diarrhea or anything like that.

If your dog is doing well with the wellness core then keep feeding it.

I've heard good things about it as it's their new grain free food. I haven't personally used it myself as I feed raw, but the ingredients look good and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend it based on the ingredients.

I hear good things about it. It is rather high in the protein department and is not recomended for puppies. Dogs over 12 months old it has been said on their web site.
If I had to switch to another dog food I'd consider this food!
