You have chosen a great time to start scholarship searching since you are a junior in high school. Scholarship deadlines happen throughout the year. Also, the best advice that I ever received is to use more than one approach to locating scholarship money. I will include several different approaches to locate college scholarship money.

First, your high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships and state grant programs. Local scholarships are typically the easiest to get compared to national ones. Also some states reward some students with great grades. However, some of these programs might only be for seniors only, but it can provide you with an idea of what to apply for consideration next year.

Second, your local public library has a book listing college scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. You enter a profile, and it will search for scholarships matching your profile. There is a scholarship for almost anything including wearing duct tape to the senior prom.

Good luck!
