It says that G-d created us in His image. What's that supposed to mean? G-d created you and me in His image in the same way that an author creates all his characters in his image. Each character in the story expresses a different aspect of the author. Even the interaction between the characters is in some way an unfolding of the truth of the author.

Not literally aka physically. G-d is not a physical being.

I'm confused... we're in god's image who doesn't look like a monkey but we do?

But in any sense, no I don't agree with you.

sure Biblical 'imagery' is an thrilling be taught. God is in many situations spoken of as being "between the cherubim". There are 4 cherubim, or "residing creatures" before the throne of God. those have the character of a guy, an ox, an eagle and a lion. because of fact the capability of God is going forth from his throne interior the middle of the 4 residing creatures, guy replaced into placed interior the "backyard of God" interior the middle of the newly shaped earth. From that area a river got here out and went forth into 4 instructions. God dwells interior the middle of four creatures guy dwells interior the middle of four categories of residing creatures (beast of the sphere, birds of the heavens, fish of the sea and the creeping issues). As God rules his dominion from his 4-section throne, guy replaced into given dominion over the 4-partitioned earth. you will see that once guy sinned, he replaced into evicted from his place the place he replaced into "in a lifeless ringer for God". No, God isn't a monkey. while guy sinned, it replaced into needed for God to furnish animal skins for Adam and his spouse. Did the 'skins' that they had die like God stated they could while he ate the forbidden fruit? Are we now in "monkey skins"? This view has some problems, and that i don't carry to it as firmly as I before had, even though it resolves assorted subjects.

Monkeys are visibally much different. Plus we can't interbreed, so we are not the same species. What are you thinking?
