How do you get rid of a guy that supposedly loves you a lot and you see him everyday without hurting him?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET RID OF HIM ALL TOGETHER DO YOU JUST LET HIM KNOW YOU DON'T FEEL THE WAY HE DOES AND YOU WANT TO MAYBE BE FRIENDS IF HE CAN HANDLE THAT WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED
