We should replace our dependence on oil & coal with new clean sustainable power (e.g. tidal, wind, solar, nuclear). Not only would this help GW, but it would stop the flow of US money to unstable oil-rich regions in the world. Islamic terrorism wouldn't be a problem for us, if we weren't sending 100's of billion to the Middle East every year.

We need to take more social responsibility upon ourselves. Recycle, use less disposable items, etc. For those that say that there is nothing thar we can do and that this is all natural, that is a dangerous statement. We are overconsuming, using our resources at a rate higher than the earth can sustain. We only have so much fresh water, we only have so much fertile land for food. Especially with the population skyrocketing toward the double digit billions, its obvious we need to clean up somewhat. What will we do when lands once fertile, turn toward desertification, what will we do when the glaciers, a huge source of freshwater, melt into the seas, lost forever? People, if we are only contributing to global warming a little, we still need to cut back. This issue shouldnt be so politicized as a right/left issue because it affects all of us equally. And yes, it HAS been proven that we can alter our atmosphere radically. Take a nuclear bomb for example. The radiation released into the air would be deadly for many years and areas would have to be evacuated. Not to say that that would be a result of global warming, but in fact, yes we are technologically advanced enough to harm our atmosphere/climate/land/water supply.

Well one idea is to limit the number of Children that are being born. At the moment in England we are getting overrun and that means that all these Immigrants that arrive here need Housing so that means they chop more and more trees down to put concrete there, for housing. We are losing our green fields and shrubs, with hedgerows also disappearing. All the birds are leaving us as I can tell by my garden. All resorces are being used up, and where it will end in future years is anyones guess...This in my view is affecting the climate, by leaps and bounds. When this Island is covered in concrete it will be too late......how is it that the Government cant see what they are creating...misery in future years...?

If you listen to the politicians and climate "scientists" you will get a constant barrage of blame on humans and human activity. That's because they are paid using taxes put on you to correct this supposed problem you have caused.
It's a hoax that humans cause climate change. Either read up on the subject and find out the truth, or blindly believe the "experts" who want your money.
Bottom line: there's nothing to tackle, so get used to it. Besides, climate change is normal and quite beneficial to the ecosystem we live in.

First, we need to really know if doing something will change anything. Then we need to understand how much to do and what the effects are.
As of now, we don't really know how much of what to do.
If one really believes CO2 from man's activities is the cause, and reducing it will help, then everyone that believes it should get a little tiny (Or no) car, move into about 300SQ FT/person home, etc., etc.
If you are not doing this, then you are not a real believer in AGW, or you are just a hypocrite.

Mostly by replacing fossil fuel use with; nuclear, solar, wind, and biofuels.
Hundreds of scientists and economists have worked for years on this. Here's their detailed plan; practical and affordable. It balances use of present technologies and development of new ones.

Jello - The idea is to STOP affecting the climate.
"If the Earth came with an operating manual, the chapter on climate might begin with a caveat that the system has been adjusted at the factory for optimum comfort, so don't touch the dials."

It's really not all that complicated - we need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, mostly by reducing our consumption of fossil fuels.
We need to require cars to get much better mileage as California and many other states are trying to do, and which the Bush EPA is trying to prevent. We need to build more solar, wind, wave, geothermal, and nuclear power plants and stop building coal power plants. We need to make our homes more energy efficient.
We also need to institute a carbon cap and trade system for our industries. Require them to pay for the CO2 they emit, and sell credits if they emit less than expected.
We need to put more R&D money into electric cars, and provide large subsidies to bring their initial purchase cost down.
We also need to protect the world's rainforests, because they're shrinking rapidly.
We have all the technology we need to tackle this problem, it's just a matter of having the will to do it before it's too late.

Theres no way to "tackle" this problem. The earth goes though many cycles. (Ice age, Global Warming. etc.) and sadly there nothing we can do about it other when try to stop contributing to it.

Global warming is a myth concocted to make Al Gore feel better about himself. Check out whats going on with liquid hot magma under the ice caps. They found out why they are melting and it is not because of Republicans.

by moving to renewable power currently solar power is twice the price of coal power so more research is also needed. by using alternatives to oil in cars such as hydrogen fuel cells.
PS Greenland melting and disrupting ocean currents is highly unlikely. the main problem is increasing temperatures causing droughts desertification floods and food shortages.
