I am a girl that is 16 yrs old 4feet 11 inch tall and weight about 102. I want to go on a diet because I think I am fat but I don't know if it is just me or everyone thinks that too?

I believe the average weight for someone with your stats is about 120lbs... I do not think you would have to go on a diet. The definition of "fat" really differs from individual I know at 16 a lot of girls have trouble spots where there seems to be some excess pounds (hips, bum, tummy...all the areas where fat is stored) Before going on a diet I would suggest talking to a trainer or your doctor and finding out what your body fat % is and just get a second opinion... Honestly diets at 16 I do not think are are great idea unless it is necessary. Perhaps you need a little more daily activity? Or all you may need is to tweek your current eating habbits or lifestyle a bit... So yeah In my opinion get a second opinion by a professional (not yahoo answers, we can only provide answers on what we are told).

you wont wanna gain muscle, it will make you heavier. burn fat by doing cardio (high heart rate excercises) like running, swimming, aerobics jumping jacks etc... I think you could do with losing a bit of weight. im 5'4" and im in the process of getting down to my ideal of 90lbs. You should be fine, just work hard and eat less. good luck

im jealous!! im ur height but im too underweight and its soo hard just to gain a few weight without freakin out T.T
i think u're at a good weight especially since we dont stop growin til mid 20s. dont worry until then, if u diet now u could harm ur muscle and bones

Not at all, normal weight for a girl your age and height is 90lb-120lb.

Your ideal weight would be 95 lbs, so your weight is OK and you don't need to lose any weight.

I have to say you're just fine.

Your weight and height is fine in perportion. I'm only 1 inch taller then you and 6 lbs heavier. Nothing bad.

You're actually skinny, now if you ever want to lose weight just cut out bad sugars and fats (fried foods, candy, etc.) and increase fruit and vegetable intake.

Of course you aren't fat. Your weight is low- average... don't worry about it. Like so many others, you have be tricked my the media/ celebrities into thinking you are fat. Don't buy it :D
