I know God will judge you in the end. I'm talking about here and now, with your own self. Of course, you shouldn't judge others.
In a court of law, is it right for a judge to judge other people when the Bible says, "Judge not and you won't be judged!"

Whether I judge myself or not, others will always judge me and sometimes that can be good. If someone comes to me with constructive cricitism about something I've done that offends others, I'd better have ears to hear, apologize to those I've offended and ask for forgiveness. We need to examine ourselves every day and do what we can to make changes that will be pleasing to God.

As far as judging others, that is the most misused statement I've ever heard and more and more people want to sit back, yell and scream because others are making judgments on their actions. Why do we now have a generation of people that don't want to hear constructive criticism so they can be better people and learn to treat others with respect and love?

How do we go through each day without making judgments about what others do or say so we don't fall prey to sinning with them? And if a person isn't following God's word, the Bible says clearly they will go to hell and for us to repeat that isn't judging someone, it is stating a fact.

God does have the final say on all of us but we need to learn that life isn't all gooey and soft and sugar coated so sometimes we have to grow up and make decisions so we can keep ourselves on the right path. It doesn't mean we need to approach others and tell them they are going to hell but we do need to be aware of what others are doing so we can avoid sin as much as possible. As Christians, we should never take the ostrich stance and bury our head in the sand unless we want to answer to God on Judgment Day for doing that.

As far as the judge, that is his/her job. We have laws which we are all supposed to abide by and when we break those laws, we have to be held accountable. When we are caught committing a crime, the judge has to determine if there is enough evidence to pass judgment to prove the person is guilty and if they are, he has every right to sentence the person. We are supposed to obey the laws of the land.

If you don't stand for something, you will fall for ANYTHING and many who are afraid to make judgments are falling for the old adage we should never, ever judge others and that is going to put more and more people on that broad path to destruction that is spoken of in Matt 7:13-14.

I need to get ready for church ~ hope this all makes sense.

Instinctively people react to you exactly as you feel towards them. I am not a judgmental person, however, I find myself questioning the cynicism , and what got them to be such cynics in the first place. Most people I have met , are helpful, considerate, and kind. Are we living in the same world ? Yes it is right, for the Judge to Judge the ones that have broken the Law. The punishment should fit the crime. I do not agree with cutting of the hand of person that stole or shoplifted something. Do you ?
that would be an example of the punishment that does not fit the crime.

I used to be a Muslim and there was an exact phrase like you said.
Unforunately I don't think so 'cause the way you judge yourself is far different from the way people judge you.No matter how much you care about the way you behave ,people will find some frauds in you.Don't judge yourself, just do the things you think are right, try to have a clear coscience and don't care about other people's judgments.

No, you're primary question makes no sense. People will judge you on a number of things regardless of how you judge yourself.

As for courts and the laws of the land, you should read a bit more. In any case, no religion should advocate disobeying the valid laws of the land, at least not under normal circumstances.

In the Bible it mentions orders of arrangements. Judges played a role in Bible time. Do u no your Bible or are u simply quoting wat u heard?
Passing "judgement" or having an opinion is part of human nature. People will always judge u. U can not control that. U can control if u judge others. So in short, NO

people will judge others no matter what. for some, it helps them feel better about themselves to make opinions about others, whether those opinions are right or wrong. even in Biblical times, there were courts of law and judges. I think that passage was for the layman, not officers of the court.

I am sorry if this sounds mean I have the flu so I don't feel very nice right now.

If you can not be bothered to read the entire bible, please don't bother yourself with talking about it.

Taking a single bible verse and creating a doctrine out of it is worse then hearing a quiet conversation through a wall.
You don't know half of what went on and the opportunities for misunderstanding are horrendous.

Ephesians 5:11-And have no fellowship with the unfruitfull works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
2 Tim 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season , out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Luke 17:3
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
1 Timothy 5:20
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
Titus 1:13
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply,
that they may be sound in the faith;
John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
The word rebuke means to to criticize sharply .
The word reprove means to to scold or correct usually gently or with kindly intent
This can not be done without judging someone.
Sometimes you must judge people. For example if you don't judge someone who is falling down drunk as unworthy to drive a car you are partly to blame for anyone that person kills while driving!

The kind of judging that ONE verse is talking about is hypocritical judging. Don't judge someone who is drinking a glass of wine if you just drank half a keg of beer! Don't judge a hungry person who steels an apple if you are stealing from petty cash at work.

If it is wrong to judge then don't give me a thumbs down because that is judging me and you believe that judging is wrong.

I believe the phrase is 'Judge not, lest ye be judged'. I wouldn['t take this as an admonition against ever holding someone else accountable for their actions. Rather, it is a warning that YOU will rightly be held to the same standard of conduct that you judge others on. If you apply fair and reasonable rules of conduct on others, then you need not fear others judging you in the same manner. But if you are one of those sanctimonious 'holier-than-thou' gits who demand perfection from others but wallow in their own excesses, watch out.

That's what it means to me, anyway.

yes, because God needs someone to help Him to discipline His children. if someone don't obey the law, there will be a punishment. He just want it like a punishment on the earth and He want to make their children to realize that there's a heavier punishment in the hell, so be carefull.
And God work by the judge, so it means God judge His child himself.

You can not judge yourself all you want, but others will.

The whole point is for YOU not to judge others.
