you can stain it as jerel h said or you can leave it outdoors for a while. that will turn it grey and weather it. If you do that you must keep close tabs on it though. The sun will do more damage to the wood than rain and this way takes longer.

I'm assuming you want the wood to look old & weather beaten...a blowtorch will bring out the grain & hitting it with a heavy chain will put some dents & scuffs in it. Have some fun & get out some pent up frustration at the same time!

Home improvement stores carry deck stains that are colored. I used a slate gray. You can see the wood grain through the stain.

depends on the wood....i use a torch and burn the grain to bring it out the you can stain it to look old with some wood stain...or paint it the color you want...let it dry...now take a torch and blister your paint and take a wire brush and brush it as you blister...this gives it a real old paint wearing off antique look
