Which area is better?

Alhambra is nicer to me, but NH has the NoHo Arts District and the train with that wonderful train station and also the bus line across the valley.
Alhambra is increasingly Asian in population; NH increasingly Hispanic.
I think NH is hotter in the summer, as it is in the San Fernando Valley.

I would say, North Hollywood.. But Alhambra is safer

It depends on what you want and what you can afford. Personally, I like North Hollywood. there are sections that are very nice and quiet. But Alhambra is further out is is a little quieter.

personally I would say Alhambra, because it has it's own police department, North Hollywood is L.A.P.D. and they take a while to respond for emergencys

No, Alhambra is better and safer.
