Complicated. There will be a huge mental age gap. At times, you two may not understand each other. But it is upto you.

I'm a 35 year old guy and here's what I would worry about. You're 21 . . . the legal limit for going out to the bars and having fun. From the years 21-28, I pretty much partied all the time. I looked forward to the weekends like the Super Bowl. Where's the party at? Where we goin'? At 35, it's just different. I still like to have fun, but I can't "hang" like I used to. Maybe you don't feel the urge to go "clubbing" like a lot of young people do. Or, maybe you do but he's a "young" 32 and can still hang. I would just worry that everything would be great for a while until one day the younger girl I was with woke up and told me she felt like she was missing out on something. Not that you can't break away for a night out with the girls once and a while. Age in itself isn't the big barrier here . . . it's making sure you're on the same page with what you want to do with your life and spare time.

he is not much older than you, I think it's perfectly fine. I thought you were talking about 20+ difference!

you may enjoy his maturity and life experience now. A lot of older men will show you how to enjoy life, but when you get older like 40 and he is 51 then there is a clearer difference in terms of body and career. You may find him less dynamic than your other mates. You may need to have children earlier just to suit his timetable. But overall older men give you more security.

If you're a mature 21 then it shouldn't be a problem. If he keeps banging on about the age difference though and shows signs of jealousy when you're with your younger mates, then get out asap.

not at all-I'm with a 45yr old man and there doesnt seem to be a problem with us! As long as you're comfortable with each other thats all that matters! I'm the happiest I've been in a long time! (and I'm 21!) xx

When you said older I thought you meant over fifty.

There's nothing wrong with you seeing a guy that age.
