I love my boyfriend and everything, but im thinking about our future together....i mean not to mention the fact that he is white and I am black, but I want to follow through with my dreams of being a doctor and I want to know am I being stupid by being with him or loving him? Will I be able to have a successful career as a doctor if we got married? Please give me some answers because Im lost....im 21 years old...we've been together for a year

Just getting into Med-School can be a huge challenge, but they NEVER ask you if your boyfriend or husband is of a different race, or in the Army.

No, it's not stupid. You can't choose who you love. You could finish you're degree and med school and become a doctor still. Is he planning to stay in the military? By the time you finish med school, he could be out of the military living a normal life. If not, you have to work things out between the two of you. Does the army not have doctors? Join him. Or is he enlisted? Either way, if it's meant to be it will happen.

No, it isn't. The real question is: what kind of guy is he. Will he make a good husband? Will he support you in your career? Can he handle the racial and cultural differences? Can you? I would make the decision based on what you think the future will look like with him, versus without him.

no, but you must consider the future form you both. are you going to have a romantic relationship at home, or is he going to be away in iraq
