into the religous mix as Athiests, well we are not for we are not none believers, we simply say that we do not know, Athiest don't believe in any type of God or supernatural being. Religous people believe there is a God.or supernatural being. Once again as an Agnostic I simply say I don't know, and it all seems kind of funny (laughable) to me. anyone like to comment on what they personally think?
Please no fairy tales.

I have loads of agnostic AND atheist friends, and I can tell there is a vast difference between the two. My reason to believe why agnostics are lumped in with atheists though is because if you do not believe in a certain persons religion (I am not pointing at any specific religion), then you are automatically wrong and looked at as a non-believer, basically. Very silly times. :[

You'd have to ask the believers because I really can't answer for them. To be honest, some (I said some) have atheists lumped into one catagory which I find ignorant but I don't really care. If they don't want to get to know me for the person I am then I wont waste my time. I know I'm a loving and caring person who always tries to do the right thing. I wouldn't do what I do for a living if I wasn't this type of person.

Edit: As far as some saying that agnostics look for the truth. As an atheist, I deny the existance of any deities but I am always looking for answers. I'm not one of those who thinks we just die, rot, and that's it. I prefer to call myself a truth seeker.

I believe in God and I don't categorize my self as a Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, or Catholic! I don't need those tittles and church rules to have faith and believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins! I only try my best to be a good person and believe in the word the Bible speaks...I do not judge others for their believes because if I did I wouldn't be a true believer!

I am only human and I have no right to say who is or who isn't damned for what they believe. And honestly I have never heard of a Agnostic..but I guess I have now!

I think you are right, often times agnostics are thrown in the same group as Atheists.

I think as a christian I might occasionally be guilty of that, although I do understand the difference.

I personally, see Agnostics as someone who is at least open enough to realize merits on both sides of the argument and that's why they say they don't know.
I see them as POTENTIAL allies, more so then Atheists. Again, this is my personal opinion.

I think on occasion, both groups might be addressed together in writing but for slightly different reasons.

Sometimes the same arguments/questions might be leveled at both groups but for Atheists it's a direct counter-argument, while for Agnostics it's more of a "here's something to think about that will hopefully sway you"

Agnosticism is a position of knowledge - it's saying it's not possible to know one way or another. Many people, including me, are agnostics as well as atheists.

From a Christian perspective, however, you're pretty much the same thing as an atheist. You're damned, according to them, because everyone is, unless they know the magic code.

So I'd say that atheism and agnosticism are lumped together because the two are closer to each other than to Christianity.

agnostic are not athiest, they just aren't sold either way. people say einstein and darwin were both athiests, but if you read deeper they both are agnostic.
i could see why Darwin would have issues with God, i mean, his whole family was wiped out to disease... but i read as he got older, he didnt necessarily say there definitely wasnt a "God". he just wanted more proof...
everyone has the right to believe in what they choose, i dont judge people, i just dont like ignorant stands or prejudice.

I think everyone is agnostic, in addition to whatever they believe. Personally, I have no belief in God, gods or the supernatural, so that makes me an atheist. However, I would be the first to admit that I don't KNOW that my belief accurately reflects reality, so that makes me an agnostic. People who don't admit this ignorance are, to me, delusional, dogmatic, or both.

Sorry, I shouldn't be answering this question because I'm not really agnostic. I admire them because they are usually looking for the truth and aren't anxious to jump on some religious bandwagon before understanding the truth. Rock on!

I tend to waiver between atheism and agnosticism. I at least know the Bible god is fake, because I had years of Bible study. I think when the term atheist is used loosely it kind of includes agnostics.

I think it is because, concerning God, what you need is faith, and, well, you probably know what faith means.
I was agnostic too, but I decided to believe. I started to see God in a different manner. For me God means love, and love is something that it is very hard to get since we, humans, hate, envy, covet, criticize, etc. Nobody loves for real, NOBODY.
