As long as they are under the same restrictions, vis full auto or burst fire, why not?

I just got a brand new civilian (Semi-auto only) M4. It's a great weapon.

well civis can have the futuristic looking ones already but in simiauto take the FN 2000 (civilian rifle from splinter cell) Most military guns today suck personlay i find a simiautomatic 7.62x51 or civilan equivilant 308winchester in a M1A /m14 platform anyday overa POS m4 that shoots a bullet the same size as a 22. dont even get me started on a the berreta m9 9mm
back to the question should people have military weapons hell no we have much better to access already a good lever 30-30 or 30-06 bolt rifle and a 44mag revolver will stomp any military gun that you are picturing

The Constitution does state we have the right to bear arms. However, in the military we are trained on the proper procedures for carrying and handling our weapons. Just because these weapons look cool does not mean that people should be able to just have one. Most of the time due to all the rules and regulation we are taught to follow our weapons are never fired. And when they are there are lots of things that follow that decision/action. Having a weapon all the time, sometimes it is more of a hassle. And if every citizen gets our weapons, then it will be easier for our enemies to get them also.

individuals can legally buy military weaspoins ,however for regualr citizens, the price may be very expensive. In generla most citizens dont need military weapons since they dont have a need for automatic weapons. Some states and cities may have them outlawed to own as well.

no they shouldnt. military weapons should be the only ones to handle that machinary. i mean they look cool and everything but i cant imagine a typical person running around with a M-16.

you could own them but they are "toned down". you cannot legally own any automatic weapons without a license. you need a license for each gun. i think the cost is $500 for each one
