Do you think only God can give permission for the dead to contact the living...and only for a very specific mission?

Leviticus 20:6 "I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people."

Deut 18:10,11 "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead."

1Chron 10:13,14 Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD.

2 Kings 21:6 (Ahab) sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger.

Isaiah 8:19 When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

If anybody sees a person who is dead, they are really seeing the "familiar spirit" that had been with that person on earth, which is a demon. The dead do not come back and talk to us. Angels are not ghosts from our past, they are ministering spirits sent from God to help us (which I'm sure you know).

I think many people do believe that things on Highway to Heaven and other programs are real.

We must know what the Bible says. If it does not line up with the Bible, then it is a lie.

We should not pray to Mary. The only way to God is through His son Jesus. We pray in Jesus' name to God and through His Spirit. Period!

The Bible nowhere mentions anyone asking for someone in Heaven to pray for them. The Bible nowhere describes anyone in Heaven praying for anyone on earth. (2) The Bible gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the saints can hear our prayers. Mary and the saints are not omniscient. Even glorified in Heaven, they are still finite beings with limitations. How could they possibly hear the prayers of millions of people? Whenever the Bible mentions praying to or speaking with the dead, it is in the context of sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy, and divination - activities the Bible strongly condemns (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13).

God is clearly against contacting the dead. There are several passages in the Bible that are very clear about this.
Also about praying to Mary (who is not the daughter of God... she is the mother of Jesus). She was just a woman and God chose her for this and she has an honorable place among women but she is NOT to be worshiped. Praying to Mary means nothing since it does not say anywhere in the Bible that she is supposed to intercede on our behalf. It says that Jesus is the intercessor therefore you can pray to Him.
As you say, "the veil has been ripped" so now we can go directly to Jesus, so praying to Mary or the saints is like this: Imagine you're the son of the president, and you need to ask your father for something, and you know that you can call his cellphone anytime, but instead you decide to call one of the janitors in the White House hoping that somehow they will relay your message to the president.
Yeah, it's that stupid.

I do not know how to answer but I will try.
1st> I would not venture to say how God feels about anything. All that I would do is tell you what the Bible says. And the Bible says that Jesus Christ is the intercessor between God and man, No human being is the intercessor nor can they ever be.

I do not know how God feels about contacting the dead, I do know that both my father and mother have gone on and hpefullly they are with him. but from time to time when I get lonely or things are not going very well I will go to the cemetery and just be with them for a while and it seems to help. Now I know what is there, Iknow that their bodies and soul and spirits have seperated and that the soul and spirit have gone on to be with the Lord And that the body is turned back to the dust from which it came. I know all that but it is still nice to go and be with them from time to time.

I don't think God wants us to pray to anyone but him. We shouldn't contact the dead especially. If we do, we can be tricked by the devil. It may not be who we think it is. Don't open the door to that side of the spirit world.

As far as saints, Catholics pray to them to be an intercessor for them to God. I don't personally pray to saints or Mary, but I believe they can pray for us in our behalf.

As far as angels, I believe in them. I don't think they are ghosts from our past. I believe when you die, you are in heaven or hell, not being a ghost. I do believe that God can let a loved one visit earth to help with something, but not to live.

I would be so disappointed if I had to "haunt" a house or walk among the living instead of being at the feet of Jesus when I die.

we are made in God's image, how would you feel if these things were going on and the 1st thing you said you wanted was that man put NO god BEFORE YOU?

I don't remember Highway to Heaven being about a ghost, I remember that Michael Landon plated an angel that was helping a cop find his salvation through the experiences that went on around them.

Angels are here for Gods purpose. They were created for the purpose of worship, delivering of messages between God and man, they announce the coming of Christ, they fight in the spiritual realm on mans behalf, they are protectors, they minister to us.....They are not "ghosts" from our past.

If you have a "ghost", its not a ghost, it is a demon.

We should not be trying to contact anyone from the dead. When you try and contact someone, you are simply, opening the door right up to the demonic.

A demon can certainly disguise itself, it can appear to be something "friendly" or from your past......even the devil can appear as an angel of light.

When they come to deceive, they will come in disguise.

No, this is not how God works. He is a God of Peace and love and order.

The Bible is pretty clear that God wants to play solo. There is no provision in the Bible for worshiping anyone other than God.
Praying to other specifically-assigned demi-gods and ancestors are part of other religions and the use of Saints and Angels as intermediaries is part of an assimilation of those traditions, but the Bible does not advocate worshiping anyone other than God.
Worship of Mary is more drawn from assimilation as well as a need to address the apparent misogyny in the Bible, which I personally attribute to the cultural setting it was filtered through, as opposed to any specific feelings God has on the matter - but then I do not consider the Bible to be divinely guided, just dealing with divine events from the viewpoint of man. Plenty of people do feel the Bible constitutes the word of God, though, so they would not favor inclusion of any other figures for prayer or worship.

This is not a practice that is acceptable to God.

Deut 18:10-12 says -

10 There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11 or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12 For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you.
